Either I'm blind and/or stupid but I just realized in ios7 if ur looking at a text and and you hold down on the convo screen and move your finger from right to left it shows the time stamp to every message .

Did everyone know this?

It's been there since beta 1 I think.

Yes, it was added for beta 2 and has been there ever since. There's been many threads, and it should be on the front page of all the iOS 7 changes threads as well.

I didn't know about this either. It's been there though. I think Apple needs to add some kind of visual indicator and/or show it in the Messages video on their website.

It's fine to post it, that's how some learn. One fellow on this thread learned the trick when he saw this post, so that's cool... 🙂

I'm looking for the secret back door to get to the night theme! Hehe.

It may not be major, but its one of those little things that are nice/come in handy. I seem to use it more and more each week after forgetting to set a timer, etc

Well I'm on iOS 6 and I see time stamps on all my texts messages. Could someone post a screenshot? Maybe it's just different for iOS 7.

You see a timestamp for every single one? Is this for both iMessages and text messages?

On iOS 6, you don't see a time stamp for every message unless you only send/receive about one message per hour, per contact.

Yeah. For both.
But not for every single one, right? I don't think that was ever available in iOS before.

Right, you get timestamps every once in a while and then messages grouped with those timestamps (but some of the messages grouped under those timestamps could have been sent/received later than those timestamps).
