3.0 is currently BETA, you do know what BETA means?

Of course I do Mr Smart Guy. I wanted to try it out though, and then I went back? Do you know what THAT MEANS?

Apple expect developers (who mostly only have one iPhone) to use this as main phone OS though. And 3.0 is barely useable for your main device. I'm not insulting your precious Apple, so no need to get all hot and flustered. Come down off your high horse. It's not my fault you're better than me.

I got a developer account and personally I am smart enough to research before messing with beta software.

You know, you are right about researching before installing.

But then again, the smart ones are the ones who can figure out how to downgrade even after claims of NOT being able to downgrade after 3.0 beta install.

Hackers are always smarter than the engineers. They do not think in the box like engineers do most of the time.

Agreed!

But if they are so so smart, can they not make their own software???

it's easier to destroy than create. It's easier to steal than buy. Steve Job would say back in the day, good artists copy, great artists steal.

they don't have to create anything. Look at the devteam - these group of people are the reason why I am still using 2.2.1:p:D

HAhahaha.

I love you iTunes 7.7 for Windows.

I just restored my friends iPhone 3G from 3.0 to 2.1.2 on iTunes 7.7 on Windows.

I did it twice. The first time, iTunes downloaded 2.0.2 (wtf?) but we tried it anyway.

It said it failed. Oh no!

But then we reset the iPhone, opened Quickpwn, quickpwn told us to reset, but then wait... the iPhone says connect to itunes, but it has a slider to make emergecny calls. Close quickpwn and open iTunes. iTunes activates it and it works just fine ;)
But 2.0.2 is OLD, so we did the exact same thing for 2.2.1
Worked fine.
Not sure if Quickpwn mattered since it didn't even do anything, but we used it the second time anyway just to make sure.

do u guys think 2.2.1 is going to work well with an updated baseband (which your phone has from 3.0)?

I think not.

3.0 might be buggy and u guys took the chance. I suggest u all wait for a new beta to be released.
