i can't remember right now, but apple did actually make a product thicker. i believe it was somewhere in the iPad line. hopefully someone else has enough energy to prove you wrong because you're just a waste of breath.

Both iPads (regular iPad 2->3 and iPad Mini 1->2) got thicker when going from low res to retina screens.

the current model is unusable without a case. its too thin

Odd you'd say that because without a case mine turns on, makes calls, runs apps, plays music and does absolutely everything it does with a case on it. Additionally I have no trouble holding it in my hand, swiping the screen, tapping things, pinching, zooming and so forth. It's the weirdest thing but when it comes to my 6 Plus it's completely usable without a case.'

I've been using Apple products exclusively for over 17 years and they've been cheap on ram and battery. They've never gone from thin back to thick. I think my observation and conclusion on what Apple will or will not do is quite qualifiable.

iPad 3 was thicker than ipad 2.

oh ya, extremely rude.

the world is full of sensitive people like you and it's actually pretty sad.

clearly you don't know anything.

know it all. "I BEEN USING APPLE STUFF FOR 17 YEARS SO I'M BETTER THAN YOU"

I get emails from mods every week because of sensitive people reporting me. Wonder how they survive school, college or work.

It is definitely a weak point around the volume buttons and does not take much force for it to give. My iPhone 5 bent there. Extra careful with my 6, wish it was a little thicker to be honest.

Every other iPhone I have had were perfect when I upgraded and passed them on.

The term "bend gate" started with the iphone 5. It slowly died off just like the iphone 6 bending threads are.

If you are interested in seeing a bent iphone 6 you merely need to goto any given Apple Store.

I saw one 2 bent iphone 6 and 1 bent iPhone 6+ in a Chicago Apple Store (near linkin park). Here is a picture I took of a 6 in Baltimore MD (Towson).

Get a bunch of goof balls messing with them and someone will bend it. Do seem a bit more fragile then previous designs. I agree with the poster that said Apple should have learned from the 5 though. No better opportunity to address an issue then when your redesigning the product regardless of how small of a problem it is. In any case I wouldn't think it would be easier to damage.

Oh well, just have to be more careful I haven't had a problem yet *knock on wood*.

Don't tell me.... I have to read every post twice because of that

Do you know how many idiots on Apple Store are trying to bend the display units ?

So can you safely use an iPhone 6 +in your pocket?

Yes according to Apple.

My brothers girlfriends iPhone 6 Plus got bent accidentally.

She's only 5'1" 105 lbs but must have put it in her skinny jeans back pocket, where she used to carry her iPhone 5S. Then forgot before sitting down.

He was afraid to do anything so I carefully bent it back and got it perfectly straight by sheer luck.

That was a month ago, caseless as usual it's just fine. Just an extremely tiny cosmetic line from the bend that you don't see unless you have it pointed out to you.

still boggles my mind.

if they had made the phone as thick as the iPhone 4, imagine how much better the battery life could be on the 6?

i own the 6+ and it's already amazing, but you can never have too much battery.

You're correct except who wants a battery so big that it takes 20 hours to charge?

If you're Superman and have x-ray vision I suppose that you could use it in your pocket.

As far as carrying it in your pocket? Yeah. You can safely carry your iPhone 6 Plus in your pocket. I do it all the time. I even carry mine in my (gasp!!) back pocket. Of my tight raw denim jeans!! Guess what? Not bent.

Just avoid sitting on it and then blame Apple for that :D

You can make it thinner, just reinforce the frame, which Apple went against to "save weight"

Ahem iphone 6+, all iPads. There are a lot of actual iOS devices that shows that's not the case.

Keep in mind the iPhone is one of the slowest charging modern devices (per mAh). So there is better technology available too.
