I respect that. Nice to see a normal comment for a change

You mean white :p but yeah maybe I will. It would be a new for a change

Personally, I have come from the past three years with white bezel iPhones. The iPhone 8 Plus is my first black device since 2013, therefore for me, it is an entirely new phone and looks extremely sleek from the front and the back :)

Any phone I get will be put into a case. I don't really understand people using the phones naked, they have no protection and are slippery. Once the case is put on you see that and the screen so I don't fully understand people bashing those aesthetics. I usually get a few cases so I can alternate. Once said case is on, the only part that maters aesthetically speaking is the screen. I prefer the space grey because the borders fade into the background and don't stand out.

Now the x has the stainless steel frame and I honestly think it's beautiful and will feel much better. But again, you'r not going to see or feel it through the case so what's the point? What you will see are those god awful ears whenever you interface with your phone. For me that's a deal breaker.

Enter the Android phones. Many good options here but if you're imbedded in the Apple ecosystem (iMessage, mac puters, Apple watch etc..) none will do. I bought a Samsung once and had so much bloody trouble with their customer service. It wouldn't matter how good the note is, it could 3D print delicious pastries and I still wouldn't buy it. . Apple's CS is worlds better than Samsung. If you're still thinking of switching to android I would wait and see what the Pixel offers and stay the ef away from CrapSung

Sticking with Apple for now. Got the 8+ 256 space grey and a nice case.
It's a much better phone than my 6s+ and the camera is freeking amazing.

I partly agree, however I have opted for a clear case on my new iPhone 8 Plus.

I have had official Apple cases for the last 3-4 years (usually leather for the added grip), however I like the look of the back and sides on this model so wanted to see it all the time. The case is extremely snug and doesn't add much bulk.

I am terrified of using a phone without the case though as I want it pristine at all times, not just at release :)

Apps is basically the only reason to use iPhone at this point. The apps are better optimized and there is some good exclusive ones. iphone usually gets apps before android as well. Hardware wise it's obviously not even a comparison at this point. Android has moved the industry forward

Sorry, I kind of disagree.

I use Apple for security reasons, privacy concerns of other platforms, excellent customer service and ready availability of store support when needed. The tight integration of hardware and software creates simply a better user experience and the seamless integration of other products within the Apple ecosystem that "just work".

My iMac for example shares all of my media. My Apple TV's stream from my iTunes library. My files are available readily on all devices via iCloud drive and compatibility is not even a concern. No clunky interfaces, no jumping between applications to accomplish as task etc.

My son was streaming Thomas Tank from 2 years old on his iPod touch! My 50 year old mother who had trouble simply accessing her email or logging into Facebook can use her iPhone without issue, the same cannot be said for other platforms.

Other ecosystems / devices / manufacturers simply cannot compete with Apple in most regards and when they attempt to, there always seems to be an issue or something doesn't quite work as it should or there is a compromise to be had. 99% of users just want their technology to work, not to spend more time setting up / restoring / troubleshooting to accomplish a task.

As one example, I cannot explain how frustrating it used to be to simply download a media file, such as a movie from the internet to play on my TV before Apple came along.

Which case did you get? I picked up Apple's silicone and love the extra grip it provides. I may also get leather. I wish the apple cases covered the bottom of the phone for a bit more protection..

IMO, the white iPhone 8 and the space grey iPhone 8 Plus are the best looking iPhone of all time. Looks are subjective.

Just be glad you don't live in the EU, otherwise you'd have to deal with the labels under the iPhone branding name on the back

[MOD NOTE]
A number of posts were removed as they were derailing the thread.

No, thank you.

The space grey color looked so lifeless, especially on glass. I felt so bad for the phone as if it was a living being, telling it how sorry I am that apple made it dark grey. The gold looks really good but it's 100% pink. It's the best option to avoid fingerprint on the back. It makes me wish that there was a white back to the black front. I know the X will have that but I'm turned off by the bright steel frame around the phone. Gross.

I then went on to play with the Samsung note 8 and it felt amazing in my hand. It's amazing how I could comfortably wrap my one hand around it and still enjoy the large screen, while the iPhone plus hurts to hold. I want it so bad but I really dislike the Samsung skin. I just cannot put myself through the pain of those poorly Android apps. Why can't iPhone have gorgeous designed phones like Android?

PS - no disrespect to those who bought the new iPhones, I'm happy that you're satisfied with your device :)

The "skinning" of Android by the various phone companies is just pathetic. Useless overhead that never does anything beneficial at all. STUPID. I am seriously looking at the Google Pixel 2. No skinning there baby!

The glass looks lifeless? You mean the back of the phone that I'll never spend any time looking at?

Ok then.

I saw one in the AT&T store on Saturday. It was a gold one with white, and I agree, it looks kind of bland and washed out. I didn’t see the black one, but I think that might look a bit better. I am reconsidering the choice of the silver back on the X.

I looked at both the 8 and 8+ in person over the week. I actually really like the space gray option. The gold definitely looks like rose gold with the way the light was hitting it.

But regardless, I will be getting the 8+ soon.

The iPhone is just a color. I understand it's the initial first choice when getting ready to order a new electronic product, but it wears off eventually and it comes down to the user experience with iOS. And most use cases on their phones anyway, which negates the color.

I personally like the space grey, and am glad it's not black - too manly for my liking. The space grey of the 6/6S was too light, so this grey is just right.

Can't stand the white front iPhones - they remind me of toys. :p to each their own!

I really like the colours, my personal favourites we've had. The glass back is amazing too, feels like such a premium device, I keep turning it around to have a quick look before it goes back in my pocket! :D

Exact same here. Was Apple leather on my 6S+ and LOVE the Apple leather case but went black silicone on the 8+ for some more grip. I have to say the silicone is not as grippy on the leather in my car as I th ought it would be. I also will likely pick up the leather case as well.. just because it looks so damn good.
