what did you end up doing?

I think the same thing is happening to my macbook pro. it clicks sometimes and other times it takes a few tries. does that sound like what happened to you?

Solved~!

So I was wiping a wet tissue on my touchpad and its not working... so I dry it with a hair dryer (need to be careful) and then I put my macbook (open) in a very cold room. the next day my touchpad works very fine
