Fingers only. Using your manhood is not allowed.

My brothers reckon that I'll end up with serious athritis..........Which is fair enough i guess.

Over the 3 minute test i dropped back to 95. it's way too had to sustain 140. After 5 minutes of trying to type that fast i'm ready for sleep

13 WPM needless to say it took me 2 minutes to type out a reply of this length with sufficient detail to keep you reading (phew that was toughh) My two index fingers do all the work:eek:

Man, there are some fast typists here. I got net 80 WPM on the 1-minute Finland test with 98% accuracy, but I had to take it twice because I couldn't read the freaking font the first time and the punctuation errors killed me. Thank goodness that test allows deleting, though.

I type a little faster in bursts when it's my own words, and I can maintain probably 50-60 WPM for a while before things start to cramp. Not that I can usually think up 50-60 WPM for more than a couple minutes, but in theory, anyway.

Funny, I had a teacher in high school (she was a professional novelist) who could type so fast it was scary--sounded like somebody just pounding the keys as fast as possible. Never timed her, but it was easily 120 WPM, if not higher.

And I'm glad somebody else remembers good ol' Mavis Beacon--I spent time with her back on an Apple //c when I was in 4th grade, but I didn't really learn to touch type until I forced myself to some time after I started college. At that point, my speed went up quite a bit.

50-60 WPM during my high school typing class (10 years ago now). No idea how fast I can type now, and I don't intend to take a test to find out!

135 wpm >99% accuracy.

I type much faster and much better than I write.
You do not want to try to decipher my cursive...
Printing is also much slower than typing for me.
Funny thing is I have no dyslexia when I type.
I only have it when I print.

188 WPM, 98% accuracy, easy enough. I'm a pianist, and thus stamina, speed and accuracy are a must.
watch it, you might kill something soon.
my piano teacher was totally horrified at the fact that i have carpal tunnel syndrome and the worst case of teenage hand tremors that she'd seen (it's actually pretty cool for doing trills), and told me all sorts of stories about her pianist friends having to retire early because they damaged their hands/wrists/arms really bad.

on average, i can do around 80wpm with 99% accuracy (all because of AIM and IRC :( ). Fastest was around 150, but not for long. coding slows me down because of the (){}[] and other stuff, so then i go a bit slower. and that's on a standard apple keyboard.

on my iBook i have to slow down a little bit, and on a frogpad i can do about 20wpm.

Edit: OMG, took a typing test. 144wpm and 100% accuracy, but I think that was because I was just copying what was there, and not actually thinking about what to write.

Unsure why anyone wants to boast of their speed and accuracy in typing. Y'all looking to get jobs doing data entry or close captioning? ;) :p

My typing skills suck yet I manage quite well here on MR. :p
