Some interesting logic in here....

The Russians hacked our elections!
The Russians used bots to sway voters and peddle fake news!
Trump is a puppet of Putin!

Kaspersky Lab, a Russian Antivirus company, who has past ties to the Kremlin/FSB says Chinese hacking unlikely...

Oh, yea, they are totally credible!
They make some good points!

Well. Blooomberg *did*get their "anonymous sources" Perhaps if they told us who these were, it would bet better.

I trust Kaspersky light years before I trust anything from Bloomberg or anything from the US media.

I don't even trust Kapersky either

The thing is, if this was true.
Russian Government, private sectors, billionaires and millionaires in Russia, would benefit many ways from this... if this was true.

There are many ways to approach this problem at hand.
The Russian way. I was born in Russia to Russian Parents.

1. All of this is true. The Russian Government, the billionaires, have blackmailed Apple and Amazon etc for a whole lot of money and or information.
I know what you thinking. Blackmail is illegal. In Russia, the legal system favors the government and the wealthy. If Apple came forward about blackmail, their stock would fall faster then speed of light and good bye trillion $ club. Trump wouldn’t do a single thing and Putin will sleep like a baby.

2. Putin has the power to walk in to Kaspersky main office and threaten everyone’s life and there will be no media coverage. And you can’t do a single thing about it. There are no laws to protect a Russian citizens, unlike US citizen in US with 1st amendment and a public defender. Russian Government has poisened and has had people disappear with out public knowledge since Russia became a Communist country.

3. Russia, is very good at playing the long game, unlike US where it’s like a Wild West.

4. Has Russian Government said anything and why?

5. Bloomberg, has provided a picture of a chip, but that chip could be a generic picture of a chip and doesn’t represent a factual rogue chip in question. Don’t accept what you see as a fact.

6. The editors have consulted with a legal team at Bloomberg. The legal team has advised the wrighter and the editor of long term consequences, law suits, stock prices, and the fact that no one will ever trust anything Bloomberg wrights for the next decade, etc etc.

7. If this is false, the credibility will suffer and Bloomberg will be no better than Onion News. Share Holders, would not want to lose $$ revenue or credibility. There is too much at stake in the long run.

8. The truth will come out eventually. 3 month from now or 10 years from now. No matter when the truth comes out, it will benefit or damage Bloomberg on a large scale, Apple, Amazon, various private sectors or Governments It’s a matter of time.

9. If this is true. US Government and agency’s, are using this information against China as leverage on a grand scale. Making backdoor deals to benefit US.

10. If this is true. Many companies across the globe, would pull out of China. Or use it to their advantage to get better $ labor rates.

11. China, will not admit to anything even if it was true. It will not admit its being black mailed and made back door deals, because it has too much to lose in the long run.

At the end of the day, it’s a double edge sword.

12. You thought I forgot about MI6. I would like for you to draw your own conclusions. Keep it simple, think outside the box.

even if true, I can't see Apple pulling out of Chine... Their their biggest market... Apple won't say "ok, now iPhone will be Made in U.S ... Assembled in U.S".

Apple would loose too much money. You think U.S can do better ? no way. If that were true, Apple would have done it, but its cheaper in China.

Unfortunately, no one can be forced to admit, because they like to see how long the "gravy-train" will run.

If Apple were wrong, they won't loose customers... people love Apple too much.. Where else are you gonna go Linux?

Besides,, if Apple is lying, who's to also say Dell and or others don't have the same? Then it becomes an issue, there is no where left to turn.. Any laptop i go to would have it in.. (in theory).. What are you gonna do ? Nothing.

This is the Ford vs. Kavanaugh of technology. Put up proof or be done with it.

Unnamed sources, here say and the likes are not proof.

The sources in Ford v. Kavanaugh were not unnamed. Kavanaugh ran from, and BS'd his way to a partisan vote.
[doublepost=1539466675][/doublepost]I have to say, I'm coming down against Bloomberg. The very strong denials by Apple and Amazon, which put themselves right in the crosshairs if false, make the complete denials credible. They would not be doing this unless they were certain. Also, the testimony of the security researcher, who says he was asked a number of questions he could only answer in the hypothetical, and then the article echoes what he said as a guess as something that actually happened-- and I believe he also said the tiny chip in their big picture was his -- things look more and more like these reporters are toast.

I guess that this actually proves that it is infact actually true.

I doubt it. So far, the only nation stupid enough to compromise one of their own hardware manufacturers - namely Cisco and some others - were the US, and that was when it came to light that the NSA actually rerouted Cisco and other shipments and installed firmware with NSA backdoors on the equipment.

The Chinese have a very simple and logical reason to never make such a stupid move: They are the factory for the world, and being caught doing something like this will break the trust in their production facilities forever and ruin their business.

For that reason alone, I'm not buying that story.

But there is another reason not to believe a word of what has been said and written: There is ZERO evidence. If those manipulated mainboards really exist, then how is it that nobody has one to show and demonstrate the manipulation in a live environment? Yeah, that's because it's all ********. Full stop.

As for a Russian company backing the Chinese: Regarding the changing political climate and the growing tensions between those two nations, I'm sorry, there is absolutely no reason for anyone in Russia to protect Chinese interests.

The only party who has anything to gain from this affair is the Trump administration, because it fits perfectly well into their political agenda. And they don't need any evidence to ride the wave, because they apply what Reichspropagandaminister Goebbels once said: "The bigger the lie, the more people will willingly follow it..."

As much as I would like to agree, there is no place where they have the know how, the speed, the price and the human force to produce as they do in China, that's their logial reason to do as they please.

An iPhone made in U.S.A. (or any other country for that matter) would cost 10x and would take longer to produce in such quantity.

Maybe India would be up to some of the standards needed (time / price / quantity ) but the know how WE tought China is UNBELIEVABLE, and it would take a huge ammount of effort / time and money to move anywhere else.

Yes they are They are the factory for the world, and they are well aware that they are hard to substitute.
