The song was released late last night, and is an exclusive to iTunes as well as Apple's streaming music service.
In a statement, Perry said that the timing of the song felt right to share it now, instead of waiting for her next album, because she sees that "there is a need for our world to unite."
I love Apple logic, helping the world through exclusivity.

If that is Rio water there is feces, urine, flesh eating bacteria, and rotting corpses floating around her.
No it's not, and this is coming from a fan. I'm tired of the same songs about sex from her.
Sorry but Madonna still holds the title.

I admit to a bit of anticipatory schadenfreude regarding the Rio Olympics. I don't want any athletes to suffer unduly, but I really want these games to go off the rails. Maybe then the IOC will put integrity and the athletes above avarice and self interest. Who am I kidding, they'll never change, even if someone dies.
No, I can't, actually. I think competition can be incredibly uniting. Good competition creates terrific camaraderie among the competitors in many cases. That certainly was the case for me in my own athletic career.Yeah, all fair points, but can you not at least see the irony of the world 'uniting' to compete against each other on an individual vs individual and country vs country basis?
I'm surprised that no one has posted "never heard of her." Every time there's a post about a rapper/hip hop artists all we see are posts about how MR readers know nothing of them but somehow hate the music and can't understand why Apple would partner with talentless thugs. But stick a white woman in some water...
And if the Olympics were to be held in a trailer park in Rio, I'm sure that's who we would get![]()
