I just wish someone could make an Android equivalent to the iPhone SE. I want a good looking small Android phone with great battery life. I don't need a QHD display. 720p is fine on a 4" display, especially when it means better performance and battery life.

I would trade my iPhone SE for an Android phone just like it.

I have the iPhone 6s Plus and the SE for personal devices, the iPhone 6 for work, and the SGS7. Battery life for me is comparable on the 6s Plus and SGS7.
That said, I would never leave iOS for Android. Or leave the iPhone for any Samsung phone. Because I use both concurrently, I can see which one works best for me. And no way would I ever choose Android over iOS.
My apple devices work so well together. They are dependable and consistent. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. It's a great phone, with a lovely screen and great camera. In many ways hardware wise it's better than the current iPhone. However I'm just so used to using the iPhone that I could never leave iOS for android.

The battery life was horrible. I turned off all of the typical culprits (bluetooth, location services, dimmed the screen) and it helped but still felt the battery drain was Way worse than my 6s plus.

I'm not super savvy at the android/computer systems, I just feel android ends up being to complicated and so much going on. I eventually just miss the "boring" of Apple.
The battery life on my S7 edge is great at the moment. I'm getting 5-7 hours SOT however I know it won't be consistent. There will always be rogue battery days (had one yesterday) and at some point in the future an update will come through and mess it up. My 6S plus is more consistent.

I want to try out the Galaxy s7 but still keep my iPhone 6S but am wondering what the cheapest way to go about it is..

This is one thing I hate about Android. It's not enough to keep me from using it, but I don't understand how I can normally get 5-7 hours SOT, but there will be one day every now and then where I'll only get 3-4 hours without changing my usage. I'll charge it back up and it'll return to 5-7 hours for the next charge. It makes absolutely no sense to me.

There have been times where the same thing has happened on my iPhone, but it's never been that much of a difference.

So, basically, your smartphone is your life, and you spend hours and days contemplating / agonizing over it. Congratulations. A life well spent.

That's a weird assertion to make based on someone's post to a forum dedicated to phones -- one would expect thread-starters to be generating posts like the OP.

Then again, I guess responses like this one are to be expected from someone with a userid of 'imanidiot'.

Yet it took Apple to make it, for you to realise, how good it is while all the Android clones are chasing the bling bling. Ironic.

I like my Samsung Android for the widgets and the great screen. I'm not sure I would enjoy all of that extra Android bling on a phone the size of an SE.

I'm curious, why do you want such a small Android phone? I guess I'd want a Samsung one just so I could use their motion photo feature on a pocketable phone. But I would be leery of giving up the reliability of my SE.

The reason I enjoy my Note 7 so much is because it's my secondary device. I won't be stranded if it suddenly does something wonky and unpredictable. Which it could do, if I make a newbie mistake on it.

Now as for hardware and Apple standing behind their products, I admit to being shocked and appalled at what I've been reading about their reaction to "Touch Disease" in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus line. They're acting like Samsung is reputed to act, leaving customers stranded out of warranty on what is a design and materials defect according to reputable repair people. I would never have expected such a reaction out of Apple to their cash cow flagship product. But that story is still developing so we shall see how they ultimately handle it.

Not sure what point you're trying to make or what's ironic but okay. Lol

Android is my favorite OS, but the iPhone SE is my favorite phone. If I want a good Android phone, I have to get one with large screen. If I get an Android phone that's the size I want, it's going to be a piece of crap.

I have just such a phone. My Nexus 5X is an excellent compact smartphone.

My iPhone 5S was nice but too small. Upon release I bought the 5X, it's been stellar.

Either you are believing the haters, or just guessing. Today's flagship Android models are excellent. Yet here in the forum hating on Android gets you big points... :D

I think you missed my entire point about size. Your Nexus 5x is much larger than my iPhone SE. I also said if I get an Android phone that's the size I want (read: small) it's going to be a piece of crap. I didn't say high end Android phones are a piece of crap. They're just too big.

As stated above, Android is my favorite OS. I'm not hating on Android phones. I have a Moto X Pure Edition and a Galaxy S7 Edge. I also have a Nexus One, Nexus 4, Moto X 2013, and a broken ThunderBolt that I don't use anymore, and had a Galaxy Nexus that I traded in for $100 when I bought my Galaxy S7 Edge a few months ago.

I'm not believing anyone but myself. This is my personal experience and preference.

Apple hasn't made a determination of what to do yet.

Sony is supposed to come out with a Compact flagship soon. 4.6" screen and SD820.

I can think of worse ways to spend one's life (glances at the hordes of Apple critics who seem to have flooded Macrumours of late).

Als a true Apple believer you are either with us or against us ... Nothing in between.

Yes, they are determining this already since the release of the iPhone 6 - this is not a "new" problem to Apple.

It's more that believe an argument should not only be correct, but it should also be correct for the right reasons.

You want to make a point, back it up with relevant reasons and proof and evidence. Don't just go off shooting off your mouth and making personal attacks and logical fallacies.

This way, we can all walk away learning something, even if we don't agree with each other's positions.

That's how we make a proper, reasoned argument.

A lot of your posts take this tone for absolutely no reason. Are you depressed. Why attack people constantly? You cite in a previous post that you're beginning to hate this site. Do us all a favor and stop spreading your misery if you hate it here.

There's so many options available now in regards to battery charging on the fly.

Battery cases and portable pocket sized power packs.

It's not always necessary to choose based on standby and usage times.

I have the iPhone 6 Plus. Best battery life I have ever had!!!
I've been Android for years. At the moment I have something called "media server" draining around half my battery for reasons I don't know.

I've uninstalled apps, googled, restarted - everything I can think of.

But with no Apple Store to go to for advice, I'm now stuck with a phone with about 6hrs battery life. For the first time, I wish I had an iPhone.

Switched from a Note 5 because of something similar. If the thing actually worked out the box I'd have kept it. I shouldn't have to reinstall more than once and get custom roms to get it to behave the way something that costs that much should.

That's probably the Samsung rootkit, checking all day long if all your media files are legal.

What isn't a new problem to iPhone 6?

With Apple Store, Genius will also have no clue why your battery is draining. All they will do is reset your phone and hope for the best.

I have had my iPhone hat just keep dropping WiFi connections. All Apple Store's employee did was reset my iPhone and force me upgrade to most recent iOS. It is not until the third trip to Apple Store that I got a replacement unit

But that's not how Android manufacturers operate. The SE is the perfect example of refinement, restraint, and well-measured "compromise."

Modern Android hardware manufacturers are almost the exact opposite. They throw anything and everything into each new handset advertising "features" which Apple doesn't have but that most don't want. They're just praying that something sticks. The result is handsets that are somewhere between ridiculously overpowered drag racers that can't serve as a daily drivers and circus freak-shows that are interesting to see, but that no one wants to hang out at.

"1,000 'No's' for every yes."
"Different doesn't mean better."
