So i tried coconutBattery and it shows i have 687 cycles, that's a crazy amount for a 2 year old phone but 91% capacity. Im waiting for the other shoe to drop with this battery because aren't they suppose to only be good for around 500 cycles?

Stay where you are and wait for the brand new designed iPhone 12. That's the only reasonable decision.

People keep expecting a radical brand new design, when in reality it’s still going to be the curved edges and rounded frame like we have now, only with a reduced or nonexistent notch.
The phone isn’t going to have flat sides, as the phones are too large now to be held comfortably. In addition to that, swiping from the bottom would automatically become not as comfortable feeling either.

I am still using my X, gets the job done for me, probably will upgrade when the 12 comes out due to the fact that my battery capacity is 88% for now and I will be renewing my plan. IMO you'd better wait and get the 12.

Well these new ones with 5G will definitely be Qualcomm. I wanted to wait but the trade in deal on my 7 to switch to AT&T was great.

So Pro Max it was.

I get decent speeds but they don't touch the speeds I get with the same carrier on my LG G8 ThinQ.
Yeah I don’t mind the slower speed, as long as I don’t get less than 5mbps I’m generally good, I got the 11 cause I know when the 12 comes out I’ll be getting that so no point spending 1k on the 11 pro when I’ll be dropping 1k in sept

I'm going to wait a bit, I'm not sure how Apple will price these and 5G has a ways to go. I'll upgrade after a while. I'm just hoping they'll stay with Qualcomm for a few years at least.

i actually couldn't care less about 5G, but having qualcomm, not to mention the latest qualcomm, is something i'm looking forward to in an iphone, qualcomm = best signal coverage. regardless of 5g

I have a launch version of the iPhone X with 256gb of storage and battery health at 90 percent. I’m itching to buy a new 11 pro but afraid it will be a let down with the exception of the camera (not a heavy camera user).

Anyone hanging on to their X until the 12 comes out?

I had iPhone X - iPhone XS - iPhone XS Max - iPhone XS to iPhone 11 Pro.

The 11 Pro offers me the battery life of the iPhone XS Max (Almost) in the SIZE that I want. You will not regret it if battery life is important to you.

I just got a Apple Care replacement X this weekend and it's like a brand new iPhone with a battery at 100%. It's gonna be easy for me to wait for the 12 now. Cost me $99 though. Oh well.

Battery health at 80% and I’m trying to hold out for the 12 max.

I also have a launch iPhone X 256GB and got my battery replaced through AppleCare+. I used my parents' new 11 and my brother's new 11 Pro Max. Couldn't tell the difference in speed, etc. Wait until the 12 so you get 5G, new design, etc. The pace of upgrades now is minimal compared to 10 years ago.

I upgraded from an iPhone X to the 11 Pro a few weeks ago. The camera system upgrade is really the only reason to go from an iPhone X to an 11 Pro. If you aren't as excited about the ultrawide and better low light performance as I was, you will probably be disappointed with the upgrade.

I’m still holding on to my 7 until the 12 comes out, so yeah, I definitely wouldn’t upgrade from an X unless you can identify some clear reason/gain that you’d be getting with the 11/pro.

Guess you forgot about faster data speeds and much much much better battery life and band 14 if your on AT&T

That's why I'm waiting a bit. I'm going to see how Apple handles this move. If it'll be easy to turn off 5G. The pricing. I am looking forward to Qualcomm but I had the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren and it was a very bad experience. I won't be an early adopter for Apple too.

Well, you shouldn’t be able to tell a difference in the speed, they both share the same processor with the A13 bionic.

Battery life is definitely better, but isn't that always the case when comparing a brand new phone to one that is over two years old? According to this a brand new iPhone 11 Pro will last only 33 minutes longer than a brand new iPhone X on average. If I didn't want the new cameras, I would have just replaced the battery in my iPhone X and called it good for at least another year.

I'm on AT&T but haven't noticed any significant difference in speed whether I'm on WiFi or cellular data, but I did not run any speed tests to compare. I did not find my iPhone X to be slow in terms of data speeds (or local app performance) and my 11 Pro still provides a solid experience. I suppose I should have run some tests when I still had the X, just out of professional curiosity since I'm in the IT industry. It just didn't occur to me as it might have if I had been disappointed in the iPhone X's performance. The 11 pro is snappier in terms of the performance of a few apps (FaceID is a bit snappier too), but overall my experience of using an iPhone 11 Pro in daily life is difficult to distinguish from my experience using the iPhone X. Except for the moment I start taking photos or shooting video... that's when the 11 Pro really shines.

The thing about data speed is that it's not something one tends to notice unless it's not meeting your needs. If you are a heavy data user, you might notice a problem that others don't. Or if you are in a congested area you might notice a problem that goes away when you are no longer in that congested area. I live in a small city where network congestion is rarely a problem, and as long as I'm in an area with coverage the data network performs well enough to provide me with a good experience whether I'm on an iPhone X or an 11 Pro.

I was not aware of the Band 14 support. That's pretty cool. I used to work in a municipal IT department that supported the technology needs of our local fire and ambulance crews. We had Wifi routers in the ambulances and fire engines that could switch between multiple broadband networks depending on which one offered the best signal (or any signal at all). Even with that there were plenty of parts of the county with no coverage.

I don't see any major reason to upgrade to an 11. Yeah could get a bigger screen. Ultra wide. More battery life. But I just got a new Battery replacement a few days before AppleCare ran out (88% life) so now good for a bit.

What I'm looking for in the 12 is the big big screen, 5G and maybe less notch. Navy is also a nice touch if that rumor is true.
I also got my battery replaced right before AppleCare ran out (80%) and it gave my X a new lease on life. It's hard to imagine it seriously slowing down anytime soon, so I may try and hang on until we see a notch-free iPhone.
