Trying to understand this feature.. I currently use iCloud Messages.. Now, my iCloud Message Database is 100gb.. (Yes, I know thats a problem). So anyway. I just purchased a new computer. I only really want recent messages on here.. Not everything.. If I enable keep only 30 days on this computer vs keep forever on my other computer? What happens? Will I lose my message library? or what exactly happens? lol

The point of iCloud messages is to keep your devices in sync. With that in mind
I think this setting is account-wide, and if you switch it to keep for 30 days all messages older than 30 days will be permanently erased from iCloud and all devices signed-in to iCloud messages. I am not 100% sure though.
