From what I can tell, you now have a very basic set of kexts. I can't see what can be causing your panics. When are you experiencing the panics?

Another thing you can try:

1. Launch System Preferences and clicking on Users & Groups.
2. Click the Lock icon on the lower left of the window and enter your password.
3. Click the + that is just above the Lock icon.
4. Create a new user.
5. Log out of your current account and in to the newly created account.
6. Try using the system for a while and see if you are still experiencing the panics.

pastrychef, many thanks for your time spending to helping me. I am getting indeed quite depressed and frustrated as we cannot find the real solution here. I am upgrading from OX 10.8 to 10.9 so if no other methods that you kindly suggest works, I might have to make probably back my SSD, format it and install a totally fresh copy of 10.9 (again the hardware Apple test did NOT find any issue).

Back to your message below, the kernel happens when I shut down and than restart the Mac. If I just restart the Mac, in most cases everything goes well.
It might be also related to a cache problem (restart versus shut down and restart). Maybe using cocktail and make a deep clean on the cache might helps? Doubts but I will try....

regards.
Andrea

UPDATE:

I have follow your suggestions and created a new user.

I have than logged out.

I have than logged in back. Everything OK.

I have re-started and everything OK.

I have shut down the MacBook Pro, waited 3 minutes and than re-started and immediately got the kernel panic:-(

At this stage I am TOTALLY lost:-(

Any way to back up my app and settings, than install a fresh copy of 10.9 and than bring back my apps and settings without risk to get again this kernel panic?

If yo have an external hard drive, you can make a complete clone of your entire system with all apps and settings intact using an app named Carbon Copy Cloner.

Another method, would be to use an external hard drive as a Time Machine.

Have you tried doing a PRAM reset?

Since the panics are occurring at boot before the OS even loads, I'm beginning to suspect it may be hardware related. The fact that cold reboot and warm reboot makes a difference leads me to suspect RAM. In any even, it may be time to schedule an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store.

Hi, the problem with Carbon Copy is that it will copy the entire SSD (and in fact this is what I am doing now), but if I want to copy back for example Microsoft Office and I do NOT have the original installer file, I cannot copy it back properly:-(

I will give a new shoot with P-Ram. OK-

I took the Mac to the Apple Genious Bar already. They said that it is NOT a hardware problem itself as safe boot will not bring any problem and also making the Apple Internal self test (boot with D) will NOT show any defect.

Also running TechTool did NOT find any problem in my components.

Apple say it is maybe an issue between my Mac and SSD. However I have already changed a previous SSD SX-512GB disc from Adata with a new from Samsung (Evo 1TB), that many people says is excellent, and still run into problems:-(

I am indeed into a loop and very nasty status!
No solution and none wants to take full responsibility:-(

After you have a full backup on an external drive, you can do a clean install of OS X. When the install is done, you can use Migration Assistant to move your old apps from the external drive to your MacBook Pro. It would be advisable to NOT copy you settings from the external drive when given the choice.

Many thanks pastrychef!
And you are pretty sure that by doing that I will NOT copy to my fresh installed SSD disc any extension or preference that might be the previous cause of the kernel problem? Just wondering....

Andrea

When the install is done, you can use Migration Assistant to move your old apps from the external drive to your MacBook Pro. Hi, deep cache cleaning and P-RAM did NOT solved the issue. With cold re-start, keep getting kernel panic.

I will do first a clean OSX 10.9 installation after formatting the SSD and than see if problem still occurs. Again, hardware test also did NOT bring any issue. So I truly hope that a clean OSX will cure my problem. Otherwise I do not know what to do as Apple will NOT do anything since hardware looks fine...

Andrea

By unchecking the settings, you should end up with a clean OS X.

No problem at all. Hope it solves your problem...

After you install OS X, try using the computer for a while before using Migration Assistant. (You can always launch Migration Assistant later on.) See how stable the computer is.

Dear pastry chef good morning. So far so good:) YES!!!!

After formatting the SSD disc and installed from scratch OSX 10.9, I do Not experience any more any crash/kernel panic at startup.
I think the problem was related to the fact that the original OSX was Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on which I have upgraded to OSX 10.8 and than to 10.9 and probably 2 consequent upgrades created some compatibility issue.

Now one last question: I have backup in full the previous OSX 10.9 with all my applications, settings, documents, photos and emails into an external HD where I have created a specific backup folder. I used Carbon Copy 3.5.3 for copying the whole previous SSD.

Now, to bring back from that backup disc ONLY specific things (like certain apps, settings, emails, folders and so on), if I use the Migrator Assistant from the new SSD 10.9, the import will consider the WHOLE HD! In my case I want to restore ONLY certain folders/files. I think with Migrator is NOT possibile doing that. If I use Carbon Copy however I can do select for example Adobe Photoshop app, but Carbon Copy will NOT also copy all related preferences and expansions that Adobe Photoshop installed in the original disc. ..... Do you know what I mean?
Any suggestion?

Hello, puffo25. Glad that the system is stable now. This proves that your issues were purely software related, which is great news.

Both Migration Assistant and Carbon Copy Cloner will allow you to restore specific portions of your backup back to your SSD (please see attached images). Just select the appropriate check boxes. I think that Carbon Copy Cloner gives finer control than Migration Assistant, though. For example, both will allow you to check/uncheck the Applications folder, but only Carbon Copy Cloner will let you select/deselect specific applications within that folder.

Thanks pastrychef for your continuous help!

When I use CarbonCopy (better than Migrator), however, I cannot easily copy a full application. There are certain apps that install several files (ie. main app, than few extensions, than preferences, registration number and so on. Photoshop and MS Office are 2 examples). If I do NOT have the original installer any more, when I copy the main app from the original backup, I do not know which other file to look from the original library or preference folder.
When I select as consequence an App to be copies, ie. Photoshop, CarbonCopy will NOT copy also all the pertinent (related) files and settings. Correct?

In that case I am a bit lost:-(
Andrea

I just did a search and found that your registration info for your Adobe apps are located in:

~/Library/Application Support/

and Office registration info is located in:

~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2011/

Therefore, if you copy over these files, your applications should remain registered.

* Note: The ~ above represents your user folder.

Hi again, I have formatted my SSD disc on my MacBook Pro 2012 model and than installed from scratches OSX 10.9.

For couple of days I did NOT experienced the kernel panic crash at startup until I have installed the following utilities:

1. HandOffs 2.0.9
2. Pathfinder 6.4
3. Default Folder X v4.5.12

After a full restart (cold) - I got again the below kernel panic.
HandsOffs might be the culprit, but not sure. As now, I have actually removed Pathfinder and Default Folder and it might looks ok....
Any clue???

Kernel Panics with SSD, Mac 5,3 Sandisk SSD, Maverics

Hi -

Not sure if anyone can help. I've booted up a mid 2009 mbp with a new 64 gb SSD (Sandisk) with Mavericks and new 8 gb of RAM. I'm aiming for a machine that can edit one video project at a time.

I've turned on Trim support. and tried about 4 different downloads of Mavericks and remade the bootable drive using createinstallmedia and Disk Maker X.

I've also run a bunch of Disk Utility permissions and verifications. Occasionally something wrong with Lib/java comes up as well as 'frameworks' and 'private frameworks' - most of these get repaired.

But I keep getting Kernel Panics. This is the latest one after the TRIM support was enabled.

Hi -

Not sure if anyone can help. I've booted up a mid 2009 mbp with a new 64 gb SSD (Sandisk) with Mavericks and new 8 gb of RAM.

Reinstall the old RAM, one DIMM at a time and see if it works better.

Thanks

Thanks!

I should have isolated that ebay purchased RAM a week ago. thanks chrfr :D
