Nor should you as you wouldn’t be qualified to do so.

So you’re just acting bearish but in reality know they will kill it? We won’t know iPhone X sales specifically, but selling over 80M iPhones and 35M X will be a resounding success. Not sure what you expected, but if it’s more, you are being unreasonable.

Get some popcorn and a comfortable chair. Feb 1st will be full of excuses. ;)

Yeah, got 2 Android Pixel 2's for the same price as 1 iPhone X. Doesn't take a genius to figure out Apple is just stealing our cash just to keep Timmy's jet and bonus going.

My guess is that there will be a little surprise.
Can’ t wait for apple to release a
4.8-5.0 inch screen in the same aspect ratio as the x with smaller bezels in a 5/s/se body with faceid, no headphone jack, wireless charging (no notch though, wouldn’ t fit and make sense) for $599 and the 6.1 inch for $799 , the new x for $949 and the x plus starting at $1099.

Why would an iPhone X plus cost $1500? Probably will start at $1099 based on logic.

Okay, base the logic on the current iPhone 8 & 8+. Say you're buying the max storage iPhone 8 Plus (Add $100 for Plus size over normal iPhone 8, and an additional $150 premium for the 256GB option) iPhone X sells for $1,000, add the $100 for the plus version, max it out with $150 for 256GB, ($1,250) Account for taxes and fees you pay to activate with a carrier and pay Uncle Sam, easily close to another $200, and you aren't far off the $1,500 mark.

We don’t normally talk about fees and tax when we talking retail pricing.

Yes take that Apple. 1150€ for the X in Germany is simply crazy. Hope they lose some marketshare.
And then Tim won’t pay his fair share of taxes in the EU

Indeed, super expensive in Europe.

1680,- USD in Denmark for the 256Gb, and 1460,- USD for the 64Gb iPhone X.

:(

Not to mention not everyone lives in the us. Entry x is about 1300. Us here. I would fully expect 1500. For an x plus.

Bigger, smaller, who cares. The phone is ugly. Reminiscent of the original iPhone with a rounded border. The chrome or stainless, whatever is hideous. Bezeless design is cool, but not a must have. Not for me.

For a phone....

Get rid of that notch. NOT make it smaller, GET RID OF IT. They said the same thing for moto360. NOPE, never got used to that 'flat tire' and I can never get used to that hideous notch. And I know for a FACT that I am not alone.

Second, PRICE! I just built a 8th gen i7 beast VR computer with water cooling for about $1300. About the same price of an iphone with an ugly notch. What were you thinking apple ? What a wasted opportunity with their 10th anniversary release.

The iPhone X does have a smaller screen by surface area than the iPhone Plus models. Why is this a misapprehension?

Oh they know it, they're just in denial.

The notch is hideous. Anyone who tells you otherwise is in denial.

Good news is Johnny Ive is back as lead designer and you can bet your house he's going to do everything he can to minimize, or if possible, eliminate that atrocity.

Pretty soon we'll need a spreadsheet to keep track of all the models, sizes and screen tech options Apple will have available.

No need as it looks like they're canceling the current X soon : ) It'll be down to 3 options, hopefully at least one with a reduced/removed notch and a realistic price.

Source: "We expect iPhone X will go to end of life (EOL) around mid-2018 and that total life cycle shipments will be around 62mn units, lower than our previous forecast of 80mn units."

I would love dual camera features in a smaller more affordable version. I can't hold a large phone in my hands they are way too top heavy and I'd drop it all the time. But I also can't bring myself to spend $50 a month on an X. I was hoping they would drop the price and I'd buy in October when the new ones came out, but if they don't follow their regular cycle and discontinue it then I'm not sure if I'll upgrade this year at all. I'll wait and see what they do in 2019.

Yes, anyone can draw something, until there a real production it doesn't count.
Says you. I'm sure Samsung just pulled that one of out of their asses. Until Apple does it, it doesn't count. That's why you still can't get a finger print scanner under a screen. You should try looking past the drawing and check out the rest of the filing.

Sure, but when it comes time to purchase it's not like that doesn't exist.

YES!!! I still hold my iPhone 5S and use every day, I think move the SE but I hear some rumors about SE 2, so I wait!
and yes and yes! I refuse to jump to a big phone!

YES! I would absolutely be on board with that. I've adjusted to the size of the 6 that I've been holding on to but every time I pick up my old 5 I miss that form factor.

Doesn't count until anyone does it. There are millions of patents for things that have never been build. Just someone had an idea, so they got a patent. Doesn't make it real or even possible.

Edit: Also, if this how it will look, this will be way worse the notch. https://patentscope.wipo.int/search...h=MURXUzOLPBM9OTgPodpvM0otKkw252wBN5Ko4cDx-R8

Research says experiences create more long lasting happiness; purchases create more happiness near term but tends to fade and people go back down to prior levels of happy ( or unhappy).

This is true. A $1000 iPhone will not make your life better. A trip to paris could change your outlook on life, meet new people, see how others live, etc. Apple is relying too much on the kardashian consumer lately to feed their materialistic egos and the products are not what they used to be.

I didn't read all these posts because I've been in meetings all day, but this is Apple, folks.

If they do go with a larger flagship model next year, they will not make it cost less. It'll cost what the X cost this year, it'll be larger (to make people happy who wanted a larger phone), it'll have a smaller notch (that thing is not leaving yet), and it will sell.

The X has sold fine. It just isn't as popular in China as Apple hoped. I love the size of the X, but if they add more features to a "plus" version, I may well buy it, which sucks because the wrist aches I sometimes had when I was using the plus phones for the past few years faded away right after I got the X.

What you may see is something in a smaller form factor, like whatever the X replacement will be, costing less and not having as many features as this plus model they'll intro.

So, in other news, Apple still makes the same money and people who bitched about the X are tricked into thinking they finally got something WORTH that money.

Too many different model iPhones are killing me. The line "Oh, I have an iPhone" doesn't ring as loud as it once did because it's become a plural entity, and no longer a singular entity that stood above all other phones.

If I wanted quantity in choices I would have just bought an Android for less than half the price of the iPhone X.

I used to think that way too, but having used a 6S+, I find the larger screen is awesome for productivity. The extra space just helps so much when I am reviewing a lesson plan (pdf documents stored in notability or mindmap in MindNode), reading emails or simply browsing the web, amongst other tasks. And I can still use my phone comfortably with one hand.

Another side effect is that a larger screen also means more space for battery. Larger X phone with stacked battery design? Yes please!
Don't later displays require more power and battery?
Certainly in the compact size camp. Certainly don't believe I Can happily achieve other things on my other devices.

Very much a compact phone person and much bigger screens for the other stuff.
