If China was trying to avoid a civil war, wouldn’t it want a country full of lazy kids who play video games all day?
I’m curious …
does generations of all work & study and no play, play a factor in less mental health issues (pandemic lock down or otherwise) vs too much play and a sudden crack down towards less play?
Here in Canda & USA we’ve made gaming a fun way for many to make income (via social media), there in China & Indonesia they produce what we use to game, and make game clones.
That can avoid a civil war, but it will not stop an American invasion, which is much more likely.
Compared to the welfare system and handouts in the U.S., China's system might as well not exist.
In Chinese culture, your social safety net is your family. Hence, the strong family values that exist in East Asian culture.
Huh? Look around. South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore.. all Chinese races. They don't need CCP to be prosper.

I disagree. You cannot say the newer generation as dumber since they are the product of the previous generation. If you call the new generation as dumber, what does that tell you about the previous generation who are supposed to shape, teach, and guide the new generation?Nah, I think millennials are dumber than boomers. But I do see many gen Z or even newer are being too easily influenced by the mass media as they lack the critical thinking as many parents and the education system are not teaching them that. Thus it's easy for propaganda to be pushed down through all channels without any context or historical perspective. And the current climate is that if you disagree with the mainstream thinking, you are automatically a bad person. But as long as you agree with the mainstream thoughts, you can be an actual bad person and it's okay. It's no wonder many kids are confused, and by nature, people are looking for some sort of order. Thus many kids are drawn towards socialism/communism and they thought the orderliness of other countries like China to be a good thing. Well, this is one of those thing that can happen if you want to have a controlled life by the government.

As for your statement, no, China doesn't need CCP to be successful, in the sense that nothing else would do. But history chose CCP for the task, and in that sense, it has fulfilled its duty, albeit with some bumps on the way.
It might as well have been the nationalists in power, and the development would have been pretty much the same.

Gen Z or newer? Try MILLENNIAL or newer.
West Eurasians, with a modern term. Or Indo-Europeans. But there are distinct differences between Germanic people and the peoples of Ancient Rome and Greece. And although Italians and Greeks are somewhat close, the French are basically Germanic and Celtic in origin, not Roman.
Parents should, I agree, but do they do it? How many obese, addicted kids there are in the USA? Do they have parents?
