I'd go with the 15" MBP with a 24" ACD.

With the extra money saved, I'd put an SSD in there.

I agree with the SSD option. I'd avoid the SSD that Apple offers. OWC has their own SSD (which I think is the same as the OCZ Vertex) and great Crucial SSDs. If you are going to spend the money you should get the fastest, most highly regarded SSD.
