The camera thing only happens on Space Grey iPhone 6's I noticed this on my mom's 6 so I checked my friends and theirs had it too, the only one that didn't have it was my grandma's.

My buddy has a silver Verizon iPhone 6 and his is way worse than mine.

Yep, this is my 3rd replacement (space grey) and it's happening again. Going to just deal with it till close to end of warranty or I hear a permanent fix has been implemented. Annoying, but still love this phone.

My experience with Apple iPhone 6, this is my letter to Applecare:

On Monday I received the replacement device for my iPhone 6. As you can see from my case, I have replaced this phone 1st time in Service center 14.05.2015 (when I have been using the faulty phone that had the front camera shifted for 1/2 a year). After this I have been receiving replacement devices which all were faulty more than 8 times with all different sort of problems, but mostly front camera crescent, cracks, some objects inside front camera and moving screen. Apple service center has checked and confirmed each and every fault I have had.

Since I felt that the Service center cannot help me, I returned the device directly to you - Applecare. You replaced the phone 3 times. Sending brand new faulty phones back to me. In total I spent 60 days replacing the production wasters.

The phone I have now, this replacement, has the screen not fitted properly, so it moves when gently press on it near the volume buttons (I went into a shop today and checked other phones there, they don't do that of course) ..

Now I am not sure if the camera will shift forming a crescent in near future or anything else bad will show up to the replacement you sent me.. But what I am absolutely sure is that Apple iPhone 6 is the worst quality product I have ever had and there is no point really in replacing the phone, since it comes back faulty with the same or some other problem. Except a strong feeling that I want to have a quality product Apple promises, but doesn't deliver.

So, basically, even though you have replaced the device more than 10 times, I am very unhappy with the result, since I still have a faulty device. It is working for now, so I will replace it later (probably) as well as (probably) place a complaint to the Consumer Rights Protection Centre, but I am just sick and tired of the process for now and can't be bothered on paying the lawyer and spending any more time on this currently.

So, truly, this is the worst device I have ever had. Since it is faulty to start with and it gets replaced by factory wasters.

I can only throw out the phones of course, but that is stupid and does not really make sense, since it is quite expensive, as well as I bought everything Apple last year November - phones, iPad, tv, airport, macbook etc. and they are supposed to work best together.

I thank you all for your kind patience and understanding. The service you provided was outstanding.

I can only feel for you, that you have to service the lowest possible quality product.

Have a very nice day.

p.s.

Just to mention - during the same time, my wife's iPhone 6 was replaced 4 times due to cracks and screen movement. The screen moves also now on the replacement device, but I am simply sick and tired of continuing the replacement process since it proves to be pointless. So as I said, the device is clearly faulty, but I will proceed maybe later.. However probably pointless.

Also - I replaced iPad air 2 twice at the service center due to production faults.

Sorry, but the real culprit here is anal retentiveness.

Hi, I do not understand English so good. What do you mean?
Basically they are saying you're making this into a much bigger issue than it should be.

I pre-ordered my iPhone 6 and mine has the crescent issue you speak of, but it doesn't affect the functionality of the camera.

You've gone through more iPhones with the 6 than I've owned since the iPhone released. I've had 5 with no replacements; the 3G, 4, 5, 5s and now the 6. Each year I buy the latest and cycle my previous device down to a family member. Zero issues with any of them.

Hi. That is exactly the point I was making. I know there are good phones around- I ckecked some of my friends phones and the ones in stores as well- no problem. How it comes that I get all the faulty. This is just not normal. And it is not my imagination, since when I take the phone to the service centre, they examine it quite seriously.
Maybe it is because we are not in USA or other large market, so they send us sh•• because Apple dont care so much

This thread is ridiculous. There is a tiny silver sliver that is only perceivable because you pointed it out. It doesnt effect any functionality. You sir need to get out more.

I would deffo keep going back for a replacement until you are happy, these aren't cheap devices they must get it right at some point hey! :p

It is a production waster. Apple confirms it. They do replace wasters, so this is what they did with this phone that has any objects inside the camera that should not be there. And it might affect the functionality in a while. Might not.
The crescent is never there whern you get the phone, it take sometimes 7 month (with 1st phone) sometimes 2 days like with some replacements.

It has nothing to do with me not getting out enaugh. It has to do everything with iPhone 6 very low quality.

I am very happy for all of you who have good experience with the phone, I just wish I have it too. But as you can see, I cannot make it happend.

It would probably mean that I have to buy a new phone, since the iPhone 6 will always be at replacing stage :))
.. I have no fate in this device anylonger. Or in this company. In my opinion, it is highly overpriced low quality junk.
I am sorry if I upset anyone, but this is exactly how this makes me feel at this time, since I spent around 1000 euro / phone and I have 2 in the family and both are production wasters. And Apple confirms it, changes them and gives me back wasters again...
The software is great though!!!

Ahhh well fair thats your opinion but I am too loyal to Apple, recently tried to change to a Samsung S6 and found it too terrible had to go back to iOS! (Had every iPhone since the 3G) thats probably why

You are so right. The soft is great! That is also a dillema. Very hard to downgrade by switching. Well , maybe next phone model will be better. Hopefully. It just reminds of imperfections in life..

I'm on my fourth iPhone 6+: first one wouldn't rotate, second one kept switching on and off silent by itself and the third froze intermittently.

Was it annoying having to swap them? Yes, but I'm just glad that I'm able to do it in person on the day. When my mother had a Samsung which went wrong, it was a nightmare getting it replaced.

I can list numerous devices from Apple which have remained perfect for years, so what you lose on the swings you gain on the roundabouts.

I agree. My iPad 2 and iPhone 4 are still used to play games by younger generation and are working fine :)

Can someone take a picture of what this crescent silver thing looks like? I have no idea what your talking about and why is it only on the space gray?

Some people are more demanding though and expect perfection when it comes to build quality. When I buy a cheap item I expect corners to have been cut in the build department and I live with it, but when I buy a very expensive product then I expect it to be aesthetically flawless.

I'm on my first 6+ and I have owned it since the beginning of December. I also kept my first iPhone 4, but the iPhone 5 was a different matter. I think it took six of those before I got one that wasn't scratched and didn't have hardware faults. The one I ended up keeping had loose volume buttons and a loose mute switch but I was sick to death of exchanging by that point. It wasn't scratched and it worked ok so I just kept it.

That is exactly the point. Thank you. Very well put.
However, very sad that you have to put up with a compromise.. For me the process of exchange since we do not have AppleStore ir just such a pain.
