There's definitely an improvement in speed. Not a gigantic leap from the 5S but it's still noticeable in daily use. If you can't tell the difference from the 5, I'd say sell your 6 soon to get the most return for your money.

Well I recently upgraded from an samsung galaxy S5 to an iphone 6, and at first I loved it. It seemed really great. Well my mom got a Note 3 for really cheap so she gave me her old iphone 5. And suddenly, my iphone 6 doesn't seem so great anymore.
First of all, wow the iphone 5 just feels better in hand. It's thin, but not too thin. It's less rounded and just fits better in my hand. Part of me even likes the smaller screen more.
Second of all, speed. Both devices are running iOS 8.02, and honestly, they both feel almost equal in speed, which is kinda sad, as the iphone 5 is over 2 years old. Neither of them have many apps or anything. The only thing that my 6 has over the 5is that it has a better battery life.

Also there are issues that the 6 that the 5 doesn't have. First of all sometimes the rotation stops working and I have to restart the phone. Also Touch ID doesn't really work that much, even though I put my fingerprint in many times.

Honestly, part of me wants to sell the iphone 6, but I would just be kinda mad because I would loose a bit of money since my iphone 6 isn't really in great condition

Anyone else feel the same?

I'm with you.
Just sold my 6 and went back to a 5s.

Went from a 5 to a 6. Speed wise um i dont see any differences at all. Feels like a 5 to me lol but I will be keeping it because I love the screen size and batt life

I'm literally in love with my 6 (apart from the quality of the display, but that's another story). TouchID has been a pleasure to use and works consistently on my 3 iphone 6 (replacements), and I wish more apps would incorporate i. There's nothing in the market that can beat it. Even Reachability has been useful.

Do you work at Samsung?

More than 20 million people are very happy with the iphone 6 and 6+, and it is selling more and more. I recommend you buy a Samsung they need people like you because their shares every day are lower from bad sales.

My iphone is great, also touch id always work, it is a lot better than the 5S because that first generation touch id sometimes fails.

The iphone 4S and 5S are great phones but by no way they compared to my iphone 6.

I think that in the future we will see and iphone mini with the same size of the 5S because woman and men with small hands will need one

Touch ID is software related bud.

my 5S Touch ID is way better then my 6 Touch ID. iOS 7.1.2 > anything iOS 8 garbage.

It's not in like terrible condition or anything lol, but one of the corners has a small dent and the screen has some minor scratches.

I just can't return it, and I've spent about $720 on it, and I doubt I can get more that $550 for it if I sell it on eBay or something

You won't get $720 since its used but you'll get closer to 650. Sure you'll take a loss but it won't be a major one. Like others here have mentioned, download the 8.1 update later today and if you still feel the same way then sell it on eBay or swappa.com and get the 5s. You can get a 5s for around 250-275. Then wait for the 7 next year. Who knows the 7 might even be the same design. I mean they kept the 4 and 4s the same. The 5 and 5s have a similar look and feel.

Def get some screen protection and a case if you're planning on keeping it.

I have to agree with the OP, holding an iPhone 5 is better imo then the IP6. I'm not sure why, it could be the thinness, or the rounded edges, or the alu back of the phone. Either way I found the iPhone 5/5s/5c to be more holdable.

I love my IP6+ (which is even less holdable in one hand ;) ) but I think the older models got the design right.

Interesting. What is about the screen quality you don't like?

If you don't like the 6, sell it and go get another phone that is more suitable for your needs

If I worked at Samsung then I wouldn't say I was happier with the iPhone 6 than the Galaxy S5 on my original post

How can your iPhone 6 not be in great condition it's barely been a month since release.

I'm having similar issues deciding whether to keep my 6, but I still have a chance to return until Thursday. I got a thin case and that helps. I'd never use this thing caseless as it's really slippery without a case, but with a grippy enough case it's manageable.

I try my wife's 5S and it feels fantastic to use one-handed. It also seems faster, but it's still running iOS 7.

I have lots of software issues (or at least I assume they are software). It spontaneously reboots sometimes, but at least it is pretty quick to start up. I'm hoping 8.1 fixes things.

No. On one hand you have people whining that their iPhone 4 from 2010 is sluggish now and on the other people with an iPhone 5 from 2012 are griping that the phone still works great. There's no winning.

In terms of speed I'm guessing this is because of iOS 8. I remember that my iPhone 5S on iOS 7 felt faster than my iPhone 5 on iOS 7. I'm hoping 9.1 would Change my mind

I had freeze issues on my first 5c. I didn't restore it and do the update. I did it via OTA instead. However, my daily driver 5c was fully wiped and restored. It was updated after it was wiped. No freezes or lag on this one. I'm wondering if it isn't leaving behind residual iOS 7 data bits when done via OTA.

I have done 4-5 fresh installs so I don't think that's it, thanks for the tip anyway.

I just played with the 6 and 6 plus yesterday at the store.

When I held the 5 for the first time I was immediately impressed with its lightness. However, I didn't care that it would be more scratch prone than the 4 which I had at the time. Eventually the 4 got too slow and I upgraded to the 5s. I have liked everything about it and it is not as scratch prone as the 5.

The 6 plus simply felt too big as a phone and too small as a tablet. It won't even fit in a standard cup holder in the car which is where I tend to keep the phone. The main reason I was interested in it was that I thought it might be able to take on the function of a tablet, but that is not the case. It doesn't look like the type of device I would want to do a lot of reading/reviewing on.

The 6 is decent, but there's nothing compelling about it. I prefer the feel and lightness of the 5s. Eventually the 5s will feel too slow (maybe in another year, or perhaps two) and then I might get the 6. I'm a bit bummed that the camera on the 6 lacks OIS. Hopefully they will add that to the 6s. I am a bit concerned also that the 6 may not fit in smaller cup holders.

Bottom line, I don't feel compelled to make a change now. But if I were in the market for a new phone, I would get the 6 just because it is likely to last longer with the A8 than the 5s with the A7. The camera would also be slightly better. Compared to the 5 with the A6, the 6 is a no brainer.
