Here you go! Playing Mission Impossible Rogue Nation DTS-HD 7.1
Wow so am I right to say this is the first app that can pass through HD audio on the ATV4?

Anyway correct me if I'm wrong but why does your first screenshot show 3/2/0.1 if it's 7.1? Looks like only the DTS core is playing.

I would not say that 48Khz is HD audio. It's standard. It also doesn't give you a clue about the quality of that 48Khz signal.

E.G.: a MP3 running at 128 kbps can be sampled at 44.1 Khz (192 and 320 also use the same rate).

DTS can also run at MP3 or AAC quality. Only explicit named surround quality will guarantee HD sound. DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD. But those do not say anything about the fact how these were originally compressed by audiolimiters, compression-plug-inns or if other sound molesting methodes were applied in the recording studio.

Sorry, but don't see the added value (yet). MrMC is working fine for me. Only missing features are HD passthru and ISO support.

The added value is that Kodi is free.

For me not supporting ISO format is a deal breaker since all my movies are ripped to either ISO and MKV. Also, I noticed that when playing MKV the secondary audio track is played and there is no way to switch to the primary audio track. No such issues with Kodi.

Sharing from a mac? Its a samba issue becaus apples smb is broken I think.

I read somewhere about installing proper samba on the mac instead.

For SMB to work you need to run the SMBUp program on the Mac. Another alternative is to use NFS which is faster.

I've installed some addons... but they wont run.

When i shutdown Kodi, and restart... I get a "Failed to start Commoncache" error message. I'm guessing this is why certain addons dont work as well...?

Anyone know a fix for the "Failed to start Commoncache" ATV4 message????

Go under Settings->Add-ons->Services->Common plugin cache->Settings, uncheck "Autostart with XBMC".

Is there any way for Kodi to remap the siri remote keys for playback on movies?

I keep pressing play/pause button to play/pause a movie but it quits this app back to the home screen.

At the moment I have to click the touchpad to bring up the pop up that has the play/ pause/FF/REW etc on it.

Thanks

This was a bug and has been fixed in newer builds. You need to update.

Ah thanks for that, thought this was strange. However is there a new update out as I only installed it recently.

Also is there a way to update it, or have to go through the full install again like the first time? Do I delete from the aTV first, then start it all again?

Sorry I'm new to this
Thanks

The most recent release is 15.2 Isengard, and that was released in October! anything later is currently Beta only ...which may have different bugs.

Not sure which I've got, can I check in system>about? I just followed the guide to install tbh. Btw this is for the new Apple TV I'm talking about, not a jailbroken aTV2.

Thanks

This is the current build.
Did you install using the iOS app signer, then Xcode? If so, just use the app signer to package the new build using the same bundleID as the one already installed then install it will Xcode.
STUFF FIXED:
- not saved skin settings (fix is incoming)
- Play/Pause does crash kodi <- fixed in MrMC and already backported to Kodi (not yet pushed).
- You can't swipe up/down on a DVD menu, thanks DanTheMan823 (http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2200063)
- UK SD and HD TV requires Bob-inverted, otherwise you get the fields deinterlaced and displayed in the reverse order so anything with intra-frame motion (i.e. native interlaced rather than 25p) will judder if you don't select Bob-Inverted. http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2202229)
- wrong black level during video playback (no clue where and how this can be fixed yet...) - also i am unsure how i can even effectively reproduce this (maybe some standard test movie or so?)
- missing transparency when using pngs with indexed palette (user reported this with his picons) (fix came from mainline) - user might need to clear his thumbnails folder (maybe via file manager)
- hopefully fixed wrong black level during video playback
- common cache error (this is not related to TVOS. It has either to do with 64bit builds or with ios9
(WORKAROUND: Go into Addons, under system services, disable or set the common cache plug-in to not automatically start.)
- How can a skinner/addon dev determine ATV4 programatically? (http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2204100)

Kodi for tvOS is version 17.

Yes I did just following a guide... On here I think! Wouldn't have a clue how to do otherwise!

I've had a few of those bugs, play/pause crash, and common cache one. I'll try this week. Hope I don't ruin it as it's working well...
