Is Angela going to be working checkout?
I don't think Kohls could afford her salary. Considering it's in the millions.

From a branding aspect - this seems to sink the value....
Your drive to bash Apple blinds you to the inanity of your statement. Since last year, Apple Watches have been sold at Walmart,Best Buy, Target, etc., all far lower end stores than Kohl's department stores.
"smart watch" is your key point. I, like so many people around the globe, aren't in the market for a "smart" watch at all. I have a normal-yet-good watch. That watch is 100% solar powered, has a perpetual calendar, is waterproof, is radio controlled in Japan so I never need to set the time, is gold plated, and has a burgundy croc band. I've had it for over 10 years and it still looks and works as great the day I paid $400 for it. It's truly zero maintenance. I just put it on, use it to look at the time and date, and then take it off. Nothing is simpler.
Perhaps some day when "smart" watches truly are smart (i.e., do a heck of a lot more than they do now), and have a much longer battery life, I will take a fresh look at them. And I hope it will be a new version of the Apple watch because I really like Apple. But for now, I am very much a MacOS and iOS product user. And despite all the sales numbers you may try to throw at me, I know I am not alone. And because I like MacOS so much, it troubles me that so much time and effort is spent on the Apple Watch when the MacBook Pro needs a heck of a lot more love. Despite iOS and Apple Watches, Apple's core still is very much the personal computer. It really is. Hopefully the new MBP is not a sign they've lost their way. But without Steve Jobs kicking fannies and micro-managing the engineering and design teams at Cupertino anymore, who knows what the future will bring.
I'm starting to understand the hate people have for Apple consumers given the amount of elitism over a retail store.
Yes. Your product will be sold at a store where the target demo consumer has a lower median household income.
Get over yourself.
Kohls is not a discount store. It is a main stream department store. Apple Watch has long been sold since the beginning at true discount stores such as Walmart, Best Buy and Target, etc.

I was thinking they'd pay her what she was actually worth, or slightly more once that $15 an hour thing kicks in.I don't think Kohls could afford her salary. Considering it's in the millions.
Kohls is great for buying Dockers pants with the stretchy waists.
Apple Watch at Kohls simply screams out how few have been sold and how desperate they are to bump sales.
"smart watch" being key, as they certainly not the best selling wearable. That goes to Fitbit BUT A HUGE margin. this reminds me of Apple's last statement regarding Macbook pro. Best selling online mac of all time, because you can ONLY buy them online right now...they forgot to mention that there other laptops had retail sales at the same time.
Don't believe the corporate spin.. ask questions..
Except the only one phone uses iOS (hold your breath this is a surprise, that phone is called the iphone!), so it's fair to compare the whole Android market to Iphone, as it's interchange with iOS (for phones not tables).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_mobile_phones#2015.5B44.5D
and you can see, Samsung sells more devices than Apple, even with there top phone off the market due to the small exploding issue![]()
I don't think luxury is the right word for their branding. They seems to want to make great products that are sold at a premium price, which I wouldn't say is synonymous with luxury. The truth of the matter is that while they used to be a niche company, things have changed dramatically in the past 20 years. You can buy Apple products at Walmart, Target, Best Buy and many other similar stores. They sell to the higher end of the "everyday market", but its not, by any means, a luxury brand.
And that's not a bad thing.
But the truth of the matter is Apple had sold a watch for $17,000 $$$ made with Gold. If that is not synonymous with Luxury then I don't know what else is.
Apple DID push their watch as a luxury item to specialty luxury boutique shops. That is not any hidden secret. You cannot deny facts. They tried and it didn't work so they are trying something different. Nothing wrong with that.
How are they going to offer the Apple Watch series 2 when it isn't even in good supply at their Apple Stores?
They tried....that's for sure.
Then they canceled the watch and are closing the boutiques. So that should give you some sort of idea of how that went. A desire to sell an overpriced watch though doesn't make you a luxury brand anymore than all of a sudden offering the option of a kobe beef burger would make McDonalds a high end restaurant.
