I want a 12" iPad Pro. Something between the two feels perfect for me. They should also replace the 12.9" with a 14" version. I think they could keep these closer to the same size by reducing bezels, as long as they don't put a notch in the iPad. That would be really annoying.

And apple will remove that one thunderbolt port as soon as they release an iPad with glass back. Can’t really remove smart connector tho.
No they won't. They're defining the iPad Pro as a computer-class device. They won't remove the only port anytime soon on the iPad Pro. I could see this potentially happening on the non-Pro iPads.

Oh yeah I remember that laughable amusing campaign. But marketing value on apple prolly only worth a sheet of paper.
Either way, iPad won’t have its port removed anytime soon. Maybe they can pilot it on iPad Air. Idk.

We are in a screen tech transitional stage right now, with micro-LED about 3-5 years away. If I had to choose between a mini-LED and an OLED screen today, I would gravitate strongly towards OLED, as Mini-LED’s current blooming would probably drive me nuts.
For me it’s a hard decision between blooming and a lower maximum brightness (1600 nits looks quite striking when watching HDR content). IMO which screen I would prefer really just depends on how bright the OLED can get.

Was hoping the OLED rumors would pan out, but I had a feeling they were too good to be true. Interesting that they'd consider OLED for Air but not for 11" iPad Pro.

Does anyone here have a mini-LED 12.9" iPad Pro? How is the bloom? Is it noticeable? Or is it easy to overlook?

Thanks!

I love OLED, the contrast makes up for any lower total brightness. The bloom doesn't bother me much either. Given the choice right now, I'd take OLED.

Just bought the current 11” because endlessly waiting for next year’s features is a fools errand.

On the plus side, lots of used Magic Keyboards next year as its redesigned to fit the thicker iPad.

I was SO looking forward to getting the 12.9 inch ipad pro to replace the 2018 model I have, til I read about the blooming issue..Im assuming it wont be fixed in next yrs model as well?

We can already test it with any iPhone OLED screens. For me it’s plentiful bright. 🖐

I just don't get the reason behind apple thinking here, why are they adding Oled on the iPad Air and the clearly lesser technology on the more expensive iPad Pro?
Anyway, that's the iPad I been waiting for to replace my 2018 pro, the 12.9' is just too big for me.

haha wonderful, i just bought the m1 11inch. oh well at least it's fast.
I bought the new 11inch too. I don't personally think the mini LED looks THAT much better than the screen currently on the 11 when it comes to actual use. Reviews seem to back this up, and when I checked it in the store.

YES! Mini LED for both Pro models. Would have been disappointed if one had to buy the bigger Pro to get mini LED screen. Also 11” Pro will continue to exist!! Good news.
