Does it have a replacable battery? If not, it's still a clear pass. Not interested in buying short-lived future e-waste.
Go review the x-ray images on this site yesterday. Its not possible for this form factor. I get where you are coming from but it’a just not an option with this class of devices. And that’s ok.

Moved on to galaxy buds 2. Same features, $100 less expensive, and they actually stay in my ears. I wanted to love my airpods pro but apple is insistent on using designs that will never stay in my ear.
Just avoid putting them in your ears that way.

(? I guess by moving to Galaxy Buds, you have indeed avoided putting them in your ears that way.)

I’m planning on getting the new version next year

I bought my AirPods Pro right after they came out- in November 2019 and use them all the time

I’d love to see Apple improve the noise cancellation and maybe add some health features to future versions

Can't wait to see the posts in the year after the release about how the ANC is being degraded with each upgrade......because it absolutely is.

There is. aptX Lossless. Supposed to launch at the end of the year.

But i wouldn't be surprised if Apple makes their own standard. They make their own Bluetooth chips and likely don't want to pay Qualcomm any more than they already have to.

Of course they will probably make you buy a new iPhone and Airpods ;)
Down with the Qualcomm tax. They invented something so you have to pay a fee based on the value of the phone you use with the AirPods?

I had my people call Tim Apple and tell them to release it in 2022 not 2023, and also make a 48 karat gold version just for me. Of course he said, yes. So you guys can thank me for having the time line advanced.
Thank you, Ronald!

I’ve had the pros a long time. I use them and AirPods Max depending on the activity.

I am guessing the new Pros primary features will relate to their integration with the Apple AR / VR product.

I suspect that the delay is related to syncing timing of the release to that.

There will never be other colors for AirPods than white -If they did, you wouldn’t immediately know that you’re looking at AirPods.

The AirPods aesthetic is iconic at this point and a key selling point for most buyers.

AirPods are just as much a fashion statement as they are consumer tech -People want to be seen wearing them just for the social capital, because everyone knows how expensive they are and that they only really work well with (equally expensive) iPhones.

Every time they release a new iteration and it’s only white they underline and cement the design and branding of AirPods.

It’s like those Louboutin womens high heels that all have the same red soles.

Creating a line of products that every consumer understands what is, can name instantly name, and wants to buy is every entrepreneur’s wet dream.

They’d be fools to do anything other than white.
White also started with the iPod and became iconic in the silhouette ads. They’re not changing that.

Everyone is talking about the technical limitations of lossless via Bluetooth, but here's the thing: AirPods are tiny. You are not going to notice the difference in sound quality with them.

If we were discussing high-end wired headphones or IEMs, sure. AirPods weren't designed with serious listening in mind. They trade sound quality for convenience and portability.

I look forward to seeing what they can do to improve but tbh the current ones are as close to perfect as any tech product I’ve ever owned.

Can we get new colors, please?

Matte black, sierra blue, product red?

The white is looking too boring now.

Don't think that's gonna happen any time soon. Ever since the original iPod, Apple has chosen to make its headphones only white.
Why?
Because, the iPod, as revolutionary as it was, was going to be in people's pockets most of the time, apple needed a way to make sure the product stood out. To make sure that everyone knew you had an iPod, they chose to make the earbuds only white, in contrast with all the other black ones on the market at the time. Apple has kept this strategy throughout all the generations of EarPods and AirPods, and it works very well. We all know the instantly recognizable and ubiquitous look of AirPods, therefore, as much as I kinda want colors myself, I don't believe Apple will add colors to the regular AirPods family.

But you know they eventually did iPods in a lot of other colors, right? So a comparison to iPods is kinda a weird argument for no new airpod colors.
But the earbuds always stayed the same color, because that's the part you always see, even when the iPod is in your pocket.

The AirPods Pro 2, the first update to the AirPods Pro since they debuted in 2019, will launch in the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Apple analyst Ming Chi-Kuo.

In a note obtained today by MacRumors, Kuo said that the second generation AirPods Pro will launch in the last quarter of 2022. Prior reports have indicated that the AirPods are going to launch next year, but excluding one rumor suggesting a third-quarter launch, a specific timeframe has yet to be revealed. The new AirPods Pro are rumored to feature an entirely new design that does away with the stem for a design similar to the Beats Fit Pro.

The AirPods Pro 2 are also rumored to feature fitness tracking capabilities using built-in sensors and a new chip that improves connectivity with devices. Apple recently updated its AirPods line with a third-generation model that includes no advanced features such as Active Noise Cancellation or silicone ear tips, leaving the AirPods Pro next in line for an update.

I really really tried to like the original AirPod Pros. Spatial audio with head tracking is amazing and breathes new life into music… but the ANC stopped working after one week and after doing research I discovered that it’s a common problem. Even if I had them replaced the new pair would likely suffer the same issues. I returned them to Costco. I’ll give the AirPods Pro 2s a try next year.

I'm eagerly waiting for these. I have tried a million different earbuds and I keep coming back to my Pros.

All I know is that Comply better be able to come through with the memory foam tips on day one. Those are a god send on the current Pros.

Whenever I see people wearing white, stem-less earbuds, it looks like they have cotton balls in their ears ?‍♂️
