LOL. The device that keeps getting pushed back…so much for Gurman’s report that the device will make its highly anticipated debut at WWDC ‘23!!!

I freakin had a hunch this will be getting "delayed".

I really hope this is a decoy article planted by Apple to drop expectations, otherwise this WWDC is gonna suck with everyone dancing around changes made to support the headset.

Also at a sale price of $3000 this thing should have an M3/M2 Pro, amazing displays and amazing connectivity...that is the price of a high spec 16" MBP. Meta makes a decent headset for $300, at $3k this thing should blow it out of the water (And yes, Meta is banking on data collection, but even competitors have $1k headsets that are technically better, and have no ad service investment, and nowhere near Apple's logistical chain.)

When was the last time any Apple rumor was accurate other than last minute leaks? Macrumors reported the Watch Ultra would cost over $1000 for a year and everyone hated but it ended costing $799 and is a successful product.

Apple is clearly playing with all those analysts and it's depressing seeing they falling over and over again. There's enough talk about this product that I can assume it's real, but I won't trust any other information, especially because Kuo change mind every week.

I really doubt this device will cost more than a MacBook Pro and will look nothing like theses cheap renders.

At this point, it’s a battle of what will be released first: Apple Car or the headset? Lol.

Everyone worried about the hardware and looks, I'm worried about the SDK, is that thing very well documented? Is it going to have great HOWTOs videos or courses? how many developers we'll need to create an AR/VR app? is Xcode enough?

Not true. Tim Cook was spotted out testing the AR headset himself.

There is no Apple Mixed Reality Headset. It was all a ruse to manipulate MacRumors, just like there's no Apple Silicon Mac Pro

And there is no spoon...

It's hard to believe that so much noise could be generated by nothing, but it's happened before...

Tangent: Early days in college: In a Freshman Comp class, the prof was going through what the class would be about. He said 'This is not your normal Composition class. You will be expected to write papers on a wide array of subjects. Our first subject is 'Reality'. Researchers into quantum physics have reported that they can't prove why the world we see exists. They have said that, given that, the world we know could completely disappear in the blink of an eye.' Well, if that's possible, wouldn't we all disappear too? 'Hmm, possibly. Put it in your papers people!'

One poor kid had an existential breakdown. They had a panic attack and ended up having to quit school. Their parents blamed this prof, and he brought it up a week or so later. We wrote papers on all kinds of things going on in the world at the time, and some stuff from history too. It was a very interesting class that apparently ruined at least one person. Just reboot and they'll be okay, right?

In a rare moment of humility apple accepted reality and postponed a product that otherwise would have badly flopped. Hopefully they’ll use the time to make it better and hopefully cheaper, or it’ll flop anyway.

Apple is really stuck on stupid if they think people are lining for their $4,000 half baked headset!

Apple has had ‘Silicon Valley Champion’ hats and shirts made out for 20 years waiting for this to launch. Not realizing they were the losing team before they stepped out on the field with this AR/VR nonsense.

This is what you get when you buy into rumors. The rumormongers then have to invent reasons their rumors won't be happening. This is no different than conspiracy theories, a continuing series of explanations and modifications.

"... catalysed by the economic downturn, hardware specification compromises, the weight of the device, the readiness of the headset's ecosystem and applications, and its high selling price."
- the device does not sound "insanely great" as steve jobs would want it to be

At this point how do we know this device even exists? How do we know this isn't just a rumor hype train? Will this even be announced at all, ever?
