Depends on how they implement a folding screen. Could just be a normal MacBook keyboard base, but the screen folds out to duplicate a double vertical monitor setup. So far Apple still hasn’t shown any indication MacOS is moving to a touch screen.Folding MacBook means you are typing on a glass keyboard and have TouchBar-like controls on the bottom half of the screen. Doesn't sound like a good idea at all.
Not sure we are talking about the same thing: article was about a laptop - a foldable iPad would make more sense to meI'm not aiming an iPad to be a laptop. iPad excels in other areas like drawing. a bigger screen you can take around certainly makes sense.
I’m an iPhone person since the start, but I also have a Galaxy Z Flip 3, and there’s no question it is cool. If it ran iOS 17.4, I’d use it happily as a primary iPhone.this is where folding screens makes sense.
not stupid folding phones.
That would be quite a thick device though. Even though it would be cool!Give it two hinges and split it into thirds. The top two thirds form a screen that folds on itself for storage and just snaps to form a 20” flat screen (no option for leaving it partially folded). The bottom third is the same as the bottom half of a normal laptop, and it just folds on-top of the already folded screen.
No need to make it touch sensitive or really do anything else to make it special - just the fact that it’s such a large screen on a laptop that manages to fold down to a practical size for moving around seems like plenty to me.
Unless you’re in business class, though, you won’t have the table space to accommodate such a large screen in economy.20 inches will be just the beginning. Can't wait till we can all unfold 27" or 30" screens at cafes, on airplanes, etc!
I have 24gb on my M2 MBA and am very happy. You mean like, say, MacBook Pro?
It’s not the size that counts, it’s what you do with it that does… 😂🤣Yes please. I used to own a 16 inch Mac, then went to 13 inch M1, now back to 16 inch and it makes a big difference. Another four inches would presumably be even better.
you're right I thought it was about iPadNot sure we are talking about the same thing: article was about a laptop - a foldable iPad would make more sense to me
but only if you look exclusively on the upper panelyou're right I thought it was about iPad
but a vertically unfolding MacBook screen solves plenty of problem. no more neck pain.
I already do this on my desktop, put my main apps on the primary panel, occasionally check the other monitors. no neck pain.but only if you look exclusively on the upper panel![]()
