For AirTags, if they’re going to enable 3rd party products like Tile to be used in Find My app, then what will be their USP? Other than hideously more expensive!

I mean, Kuo is no Jon Prosser. Who cares what this "Analyst" has to say?

;)

Air Tags late to the party however if they are thin they’ll be a winner

M1 Macs... bring them on.

AR device or glasses this is something that remains to be seen if it can prove its usefulness
I’m hopeful it can

GaN chargers I would rather see a faster charger than a 35% smaller charger. Besides Belkin and Anker already have these

I hope it has a hole so that you can easily attach it to things you want to track.

Those Airtags look minty fresh. I hope they include a "DO NOT EAT" label.

Faster chargers are bad for batteries. They’re fast enough (as long as they’re wired).

I guess if you keep "predicting" it enough, eventually you'll get it right.

The AR device is going to be Apple’s next big hit and it’s mentioned like a secondary thing to AirTags or MiniLED...

By the way, at this point maybe you ignore who says each rumor when you read, but there are good and bad leakers. Kuo is clearly in the first group. He obviously makes errors, but it’s usually because of delays or similar, not the kind of “iPad is going to have macOS” ones.

...this is one device. And we're calling it AugTag! And here it is... [insert artist conception from Anger Danger]
No seriously. It’s going to be three devices in one.

A item tracker (via AR).

A fitness enhancer (tracking reps and other things)

A point tracker for AR. (Think HTC vive)

It would be cool if this tech were integrated into items instead of just being a tag. I would buy a key fob and wallet that had Apple Tag technology built into the product so it can't be removed.

Listen! I am 100% sick and tired of hearing about these AirTags. TBH it’s making me not want to check the site daily anymore.

Just like all those articles for two ******* years about the AirPower mat. MR talked about it for two years and it was never even released. Please stop talking about these things.

No kidding. And the sky is blue Kuo.

"from reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo".....according to who MacRumors? His claims over the years have more revisions than a college doctorate paper.

Kuo is pretty damn reliable, so I'll give him a pass.
Not really. He constantly makes claims about Apple products and then revises those claims with excuses when things don't pan out. I'd trust a carnival barker over Kuo

A use case for the Magsafe Wallet accessory. If it falls off your phone, you can find it with built-in Airtags. (Although I would prefer a stronger magnet myself.)

  1. Take a picture of the device you want to tag. Better yet, with the iPhone 12 Pro or 2020 iPad Pro, made a 3D image with the LiDAR camera.
  2. Attach Airtags to the device
  3. If you lose your device, use your iPhone with UWB and/or Bluetooth in the Find My app to locate it with AR to get a better idea of the location.
Yeah, a little gimmicky, but that would be a cool Apple commercial.

I tend to think 2021 will be the year of the M macs, with mostly iterations on everything else.

The airtags arent exactly a major product, and can't see the AR headset launching this year either [but is something I will be first in line for and dont care about being a beta tester, as is core to my business]

Bring on the following macs though [in order of priority] :

14"M MBP for lightweight pro mobile work
Mini Mac Pro [mid size desktop will do me with 2 PCIE 4 slots]. price and spec dependent. 2022 most likely
24" Imac for WFH - photography + music [the 14"M may be able to do everything I need and will review when I get it]
