Guys, if they’re switching suppliers it happened months ago.

The coating is applied when the lens itself is made, before it ever makes it into physical device.

Reading between the lines it sounds to me like a temperature control problem during the coating process (either chemical bath or some type of vapor deposition) where the heat difference between the coating agent and the glass was causing cracking.

There’s no way a coating causes a crack days/weeks/months after being applied.

This story doesn’t pass the sniff test when it comes to timeline. It sounds more like reporting a supplier switch months after it’s already occurred.

I hate lazy reporting like this.

iPhone 14 pro max 256gb bottom lens mysteriously broken in less than 24 hours, case on as you can see. No drops, 100% defective. I guess the rumors were accurate!

Looks like impact marks on the case at lip of the camera bumper and next to it in the bottom right corner...

looks like you are pointing to cosmetics on my case - when looked at via a different angle you can clearly see my case does not have a scratch on it

**this is my 9th iphone starting from the 3GS (w at&t) to now, never have i once cracked a screen or back or camera lens, NEVER, and this happened in less than 24 hours 🤔

If it was a an odd angle that made it look like that then sorry. I wasn't accusing you of anything. All people on the forum can go off of is pictures you provide and in that photo there looks like somethings there. In the other photos there isn't so thank you for the new pics. Have you taken it to Apple for inspection? Hopefully you have Applecare+ if they don't want to replace it under regular warranty
