Totally agree with this— the hole punch looks uglier than the notch. The notch gets a bad rap, but I actually don’t mind it as a design choice, as it serves to remind you which is the correct orientation of the device. The hole punch just looks like a defective screen.
for all we know, apple will put the hole so it bisects the top edge of the screen. Then it will just look like an apple ][ floppy where you used a hole punch to enable double-sided use.

Maybe. I just hope the battery life stays the same for the iPhone 14. But I suspect they’ll make it worse again 😂

The more I think about it, I wonder if the iPhone losing the camera bump is because of thinner camera modules or a thicker phone. If it’s a thicker phone maybe we see an M1 (or whatever #) powered iPhone Pro?

We will not see an M1 iphone.

The next iphone will use folded (“periscope”) optics, which allows the camera module to be much thinner.

dear Pod...this hole punch looks way worse than the notch, please NO! Better go back to a slightly larger bezel

It actually looks okay on my Samsung Flip 3 and I'm one of the notch haters that would do anything to hide the notch. It's too bad Apple doesn't let us do the same thing on an iPhone that they allow on a MBP -- full screen apps being below the notch. That's basically what Samsung does on the Flip -- I actually never see the punch hole unless I look for it.
