This is the first I’m hearing about the switch going away. The current switch is fairly difficult to accidentally flip, especially if you use a case.
as I use my phone in a case, having the mute changed to a button rather than a switch is super appealing to me for the reason that it can be hard to trigger the switch.

The switch is nicely tactile when going case free however.

Crap. I was just getting used to mine. Next they'll go back to the lighting cable and headphone jack. 😉

So what will the "hero" feature be now?

I doubt buttons that don’t actually move but still feel like buttons was going to be much of a hero feature.

To be honest I don’t think it was ever planned and Kuo is attempting to backtrack.

Shrimpapplepro mentioned that the non-pros would get solid state buttons as well but not the single Button like the pros would have got. I bet the pros will still have solid state but not be one unified bottom like in the original CAD design. But I don’t know if they can change the CAD design this late in the manufacturing prep process though

Excellent points! But the Action Button on Apple Watch Ultra is too sensitive to the wrist/skin. I tend to hit it accidentally many times and it gets very annoying. Especially when you are working out. Too sensitive and fragile.
Really @TheYayAreaLiving 🎗️ I do not hit it much, more often on all my watches I hit the crown button and Siri starts listening and answering me when was not talkint to her. I have yet to accidentally hit the action button even though I have only had my ultra for around almost a month.

I don’t like to use the word “fail,“ but this has fail all over it. The new buttons would have been a HUGE feature change. Everyone said it was coming. If it doesn’t, what is the problem at Apple?

It’s like Apple wants to implement the new feature but can’t do it. Makes them look weak.
