I’m not sure an iPhone 8 camera will deter those who simply are looking for an inexpensive way to get into an iPhone.

It may deter those who already have an iPhone 6 or 6s to either wait for the iPhone 12 or consider leaving Apple altogether for an Android phone.

I still rock an iPhone 8 and actually still find the camera really very good on the grand scheme of things. An even better camera would be welcome regardless, but you know what apple are like and looking at the price point and market they're looking to hit, it's mostly probably going to be an iPhone 8 camera in the SE 2nd gen (or whatever they call it). Gigabit LTE, eSIM and A13 CPU with 3GB RAM in an iPhone 8 case and camera for £400 would be quite competitive and a true successor to the SE in all fairness. The worst thing they could do is not release a 256GB storage option, and therefore no clear upgrade path for iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 users which are otherwise happy but looking for some future proofing, again knowing what apple are like they will probably do exactly that and only offer the 11/11Pro in 256GB storage option thinking it will entice people to go up in size and form factor.
