I am not sure of this considering AppleWatch works best within the eco system. It its possible that it maybe similar to AirPods but the bandwidth required for AR/VR would exceed present BT bandwidth requirements, it maybe use Wifi for high bandwidth and BT for other things.

who cares, they prob will be so costly like today’s Computers
If we consider the cost of AirPods Max I suspect this will be in the price range of $999-1200, the eye cups will have magnets like the AirPods Max.

I don't think it will be similar to the previous GoogleGlass but rather some form of other immersive experience. The next MBA will include FaceID to use for human shape tracking similar to using Nintendo Wii or XBOX whatever that bar that sat over the TV or Sony's equal version of a similar form.
Face-ID is just a sensor on an existing form factor, be it a phone or laptop.
The rumor is for an actual AR/VR headset.

I understand that, what I am saying is that it will work in harmony with a MacBook or AppleTV similar to how Handoff works with AppleWatch to unlock a Mac.

Apple needs to buy Blizzard and then use the world of Warcraft merged with Starcraft to create the OASIS.

That’s fine. No one is interested in those anyways. This report also confirms Tim Cook won’t be retiring before end of 2022. Long live, Tim!
I'm happy to be wrong about these, but I simply don't care. They can put these off as long as possible. I'm probably not the target market for this item, but this is not something that excites me. I was checking out the forum because I was curious to see whether people are excited about it. It seems a few are, but Apple may have some work to demonstrate the use case for this.

With new Apple vision you will be able to see black rectangles 'everywhere' you look.

The rectangles will help cover up the prices on our website to induce a sense of well-being before making purchases.

They should delay it. I am just hearing this year of new upcoming versions of the unreal engine that are way better suited for devices like this. Whats the point of a headset you can't wear in the real world if it is not capable of showing you a virtual world that has few limits. This VR stuff will really take off when you can easily render an environment as big as the city in for example the spider man game and be able to enter almost any room in any building with ps5 level graphics. That may sound like way too much data. But this type of technology is heading in such a direction that streaming such a world from a server farm set up for that is much easier to do. Companies would spring up offering virtual environments if you didn't need such high system requirements to view it. It would be a whole knew software economy. That software is not fully ready to implement just yet and just looking at pop ups of the items surrounding my home is a waste of money for such tech.

I'm excited for VR, I've worked in it, used it for serious production purposes, but I'm utterly disinterested in what Apple would do with VR.

I'm up for an HMD. I've wanted one for years, since Sony started making them in... the late 90s? Just as a "big" TV. I have a PSVR and you can use it as a simulated 20 foot screen or whatever. It'd be cool if you could use this Apple HMD for that kind of thing.

I’m not at all excited about VR goggles. I realized recently that it’s down to my exotropia. It’s why 3D in general doesn’t work for me. I do have depth perception, but I also have double vision. At close focus ranges (possibly looking into other people’s eyes, especially looking into my own eyes in a mirror), I can focus with both eyes, but they diverge as I move away from the object. 3D glasses and VR headsets don’t really address the focal length issues, despite being right in front of my face.

The AR glasses (assuming they’re normal glasses) are far more promising for me than VR is. I’m not yet really convinced of the value of AR glasses (especially since I also need vision correcting lenses), but perhaps there are legitimately useful aspects of AR where having the display in the glasses is more useful than holding a phone. For instance, I used the new 3D navigation option in Maps on Sunday, and that was legitimately helpful in addressing the ā€œI’m not sure which direction is whichā€ problem that happens when I get off at an unfamiliar subway station. If I could see the direction indicators in real space (if even in 2D or only in one eye) without holding my phone up to them, that would be one perk of AR glasses. Turn by turn arrows while driving could be another, but navigation is one of the very few uses I can think of where I’d prefer to see AR objects ā€œin the real worldā€ over just using my phone or watch.

I'll admit I'm not sure.
They still have the Watch locked down to Apple users only despite I'm sure many many millions would buy an Apple watch if it worked on PC's/Android phones.

My gut feeling is that their main goal is to increase devices and services within their own "world" to tempt people to come and join Apple, and hence give them more money.

Selling more phones and 3D headsets? will sell more devices, but they may not simply want more sales, then might want more lifelong full Apple product owners.
