Kuo: New MacBook Pro Models With HDMI Port and SD Card Reader to Launch Later This Year

And cheap. I bought a 256 transcend jet drive for $180 several years ago. Now I think they’re under $70 on Amazon.

Anyone yet know the depth of the new SD slot? Sure hoping my MBA-specific jetdrive fits flush with the new macbooks, for a quick, easy, convenient memory camel. Odds are it won’t :(

Yah exactly - we need to know the depth. I took my best guess and got a micro SD ninja adapter SD for "2015 MBP" which is the last model with SD - hoping Apple used that - but I wouldn't count on it either :).

This is funny stuff.

Any idea what the ideal modern SD slot storage could be? I mean could someone make a Micro SD RAID level 5 bay on an SD card ? :)

The sleeves take a Micro-SD card. Might be a TB these days.

SanDisk Extreme 1TB $179.
Lexar Play 1 TB $155.94.

Right on. Yah - for some reason the ninja iq or whatever it's called says don't use Lex or something. I was suspecting that the Micro SD cards are where it's at these days. I have kind of been in a real life time warp coinciding with a lot of messed up things in our world since around 2014, lol. It seems like everything started changing in weird ways in 2014. Maybe someone did some time travelling and put us back on the right path.

Anyways - yes - I shall be seeking a few Sandisk Extreme super fastest micro SD cards. Maybe I can 3D print some cool holders for Micro SD cards for the latest "Backups Archive" - I will say that it is kinda cool that those Micro SD cards are so tiny. 1 TB. It's like 1400 CDROM's. Remember when CDROM's came out? Then it was like 100 yards of sheets of paper stacked up or something like that :)

Just imagine going from Syquest 45MB, to Zip drives, to DVD's. Tons of USB drives and all flavours of Firewire. RAIDS and DAT tapes and on and on.

I had a great backup strategy over the decades - not that it was worthwhile or anything - but it was part of my hobby I guess.

In summary - it's good to make backups - probably.

Time stopped for many in MacBook Pro land after 2015. It's resumed again.

I have 2014 and 2015 MacBook Pros and will have continuity with SD card support through my MacBook Pros.
