I agree it will seem dated, but to play devil’s advocate, Apple probably doesn’t consider the 7 to have the same design as the 8. Otherwise they would have called it the 7s.They already used the design 3 times 7,8 and the current SE.
Using the same design in 2022 will make it look dated. Even now some people are complaining that the SE looks like it’s a phone from 2016. Having the same the same design for a 2022 phone is laughable.
Gaming for exampleWhere do you need processor update because I cannot notice any difference between 6S, 8 or SE2. Using all of them daily..
Guess you’re going to be stuck with the same phone forever then.Another fail. Until Apple stops putting notches and holes in my iPhone screen, my debit card will stay in its holster. Try again, Tim!
Yeah, by 2022 they could simply keep selling the 2020 iPhone Mini at a discount to match the price of the SE.
The 4.7" design looks very dated now, let alone a year from now.
Hey I like that iPad. Great machine that works wellJust like the useless new „iPad“ still using the Apple Pencil 1, this device only exists, to justify the high starting prices of the actual latest devices
I don't get why they need the se anymore they should retire this style and just go with the new models
I think it's Touch IDOffers a quality lower cost proven iPhone. Not to mention some like the smaller footprint.
It would be nice to make the mini more affordable, maybe not replacing the SE, but simplifying the lineup would allow us to see the previous mini (this is, the 12 mini later this year) as a base iPhone starting at 499, for instance. That would be a great starting point.Kill the SE with fire!
It’s eating into the Mini sales and jeopardizing it’s future.
If Apple holds onto the mini long term, the should stay along for the ride. If its going to impact a similar, superior product, get rid of it.
Relax, the photo is of an iPhone 8 style device.Another fail. Until Apple stops putting notches and holes in my iPhone screen, my debit card will stay in its holster. Try again, Tim!

The SE will cannibalize the Mini. If there can only be one, it needs to be the Mini. If both can stay, party on SE.It would be nice to make the mini more affordable, maybe not replacing the SE, but simplifying the lineup would allow us to see the previous mini (this is, the 12 mini later this year) as a base iPhone starting at 499, for instance. The se doesn’t cannibalize the Se anymore than the se cannibalizes the iPhone XR or 11 which are still selling well. The SE will cannibalize the Mini. If there can only be one, it needs to be the Mini. If both can stay, party on SE.
If there is going to be one it needs to be the se because Apple needs a device in that price range. The SE will cannibalize the Mini. If there can only be one, it needs to be the Mini. If both can stay, party on SE.

It's not useless. The current iPad is a go-to for many people needing a cheap but powerful computer for at-home classes and business meetings. It came out at the right time. Not everyone can afford the Air or Pro.
