They haven't learnt from the touch bar? More than 2 inputs is confusing. I was using a Huawei matebook which had a touch screen and I almost forgot that it had it, never had the need to use it.

Don’t need or want this. What for? (I have an iPad for that). Just makes me wonder what the hell is going on out there in Cupertino?

I'm not against having an option for a touchscreen laptop for those who desire one. However, I wouldn't buy or use one myself.

I would be disappointed if you can only get an OLED screen with the touchscreen. I'd like to see an option for OLED without touchscreen; that would interest me.

This has been completely inevitable in the long term because there are more and more people being born that expect or will expect every screen to be touch capable. Sorry, reactionaries, it's not all about you.
I don't think that's as true as you're assuming it is. In fact, children are increasingly being restricted from touchscreen devices due to concerns about the effects on their development. Early childhood educators say they can actually tell which children are "screen time babies" and which aren't.

I wonder what you mom-Mac owners who spend their time posting comments here will complain about next. 😂

I will only believe this when I see it! That is for sure. Meh my next purchase will be an Apple Watch Ultra 3 and fingers crossed, 2 new Studio displays.

To me it would make more sense to make a 15" iPad Pro and maybe stick in a Pro M chip?

Since this feature made it to Windows based laptops many years ago already, I haven't seen a single person ever use it. Ever.

But hey, gotta have a new selling point I guess.
I see a lot of people use it for scrolling in my windows only office.

Touchpad to point and click, screen to scroll. 🤷‍♀️

except they dont use those
we have a lot of young people in the company, they all have touchscreen habits (they universally use Caps Lock instead of Shift even for a single letter, as it behaves more like Shift on a phone)
i havent seen anybody actually work with his fingers on a laptop, even tho most of our laptops has them (dell latitude laptops, were somehow cheaper with touchscreen). nobody wants to hold hands in the air, no matter what futuristic movies and TVs show.

Interesting idea. Apple would have to change the way their laptop hinges work, though. Considering that their hinges are already quite good, I would worry about that. I have never used a touchscreen laptop that didn't wobble when you touched the screen. I can understand why a fully rotating design might be appealing for some, though, just to use the laptop as an external display without the keyboard. Of course, if you want that, you might as well have an iPad.
Sure you could use an iPad, or any other external monitor, but the point is that it's a shame to have multi-thousand pound device with a high-quality monitor in it, and not be able to utilise it without having unnecessary clutter on the desk.

Not something I would ever want or use. I get it there is a market but the one laptop I owned with this, I hated the function, hated the finger printers and stopped using it shortly after purchase.

Listen, Apple.

I just want a computer that's not a hassle to use.

I know you don't understand that since you've spent the last few years turning OSX into Windows Vista, but adding even more nonsense features to make shareholder think Something or Other is a growth market is really not helping.

I doubt it of course but also… couldn’t help but notice that everything in MacOS 26 feels unexpectedly a little bigger, rounder, and friendlier 🤔

Here we go again, a rumor that's circulating since 2016 because "touch bar" was a teaser for touch screen.... I know they had touch screen macbook patent since years and every year Apple says touch screen macbook is a bad macbook
