You see you say that, I can’t remember what he said about the new iPad Air, but not a single person actually believed it would be getting the M1 chip, and some didn’t believe the Mac Studio and display were real either, yet here we are a week later nearly. But it’s obvious the iPhone will get the new A chip, and 6GB RAM sounds reasonable too, it doesn’t need anymore for a phone running iOS.
Kuo didn't leak Mac Studio / M1 iPad Air / Studio Display. That was 9to5mac. They deserve the credit

Up until last week we’ve only seen paywalled reports, once per month or a few more…
Now we’re seeing twitter messages, done to the charger level from the same guy that predicted Apple car in 2025 or whatever year? 30W charger and a car - if you were a client or subscribed reader of his reports - what would you think?
This just does not add up which is why I just not convinced that this twitter account is him…

You still need Kuo to make money. His reports are still paywalled.

Is Sunrex or Wistron making the keyboard caps for Apple?

Is Luxshare assembling the mini LED panel or Taiwan Surface Mounting Technology? What are the ratios? Who is making the backlight unit? Which stock do you buy?

The fact that Kuo shares leaked info is his way of advertising his knowledge. Are you going to divest in TSMC now that you know A16 is only in a portion of iPhones?

I could see them calling it the A15X or something. I guess apple need to make the pro lines seem more superior I guess. not like the A15 is slow it's still better than any other chip out there.
In the iPhone 13 range they don't distinguish the differences in the A15 CPU onboard so I can't see Apple drawing attention to the differences for that reason.

Would it be a reasonable marketing point to suggest that the iPhone 14 non-Pro models actually could just be in effect iPhone 13 Pro SoC in cheaper packaging and possibly losing a camera? Does that makes it sound a better deal?

This just doesn't seem right. They always--ALWAYS--tout their new processors and brag about "X times faster." Apple has turned all things AS into a marketing strategy (which they absolutely should be doing), so this rumor doesn't line up with usual practice. "Our amazing new iPhone 14, with the same processor from last year's iPhone 13."

Only the iPhone 14 Pro models will have the "A16" chip, while the standard iPhone 14 models will retain the A15 Bionic chip from the iPhone 13, according to insightful Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

In a tweet, Kuo said that the 6.1-inch "iPhone 14 Pro" and the 6.7-inch "iPhone 14 Pro Max" will get the A16 chip, while the 6.1-inch "iPhone 14" and the 6.7-inch "iPhone 14 Max" will retain the same A15 chip from the iPhone 13 lineup.

The two more affordable iPhone models retaining the same chip as the previous year could be a major new point of differentiation between the standard and "Pro" iPhone models. Going forward, it seems plausible that Apple could only offer a new chip with the "Pro" models, before it subsequently trickles down to the two cheaper iPhone models the following year.

Kuo added that all four of the iPhone 14 models are likely to come with 6GB of memory, with the standard iPhone 14 models having LPDDR 4X memory and the iPhone 14 Pro models having LPDDR 5 memory.

Currently, the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 feature 4GB of memory, while the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max feature 6GB of memory. These amounts are unchanged from the iPhone 12 lineup. For the iPhone 14 lineup, Kuo suggests that all models will feature 6GB of RAM, but the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max's LPDDR 5 memory will be up to one and a half times faster and up to 30 percent more power efficient.

Kuo's claim stands in contrast to a rumor from Haitong International Securities' Jeff Pu, which suggested suggested the iPhone 14 Pro models will feature 8GB of RAM, the same amount as the Samsung Galaxy S22 models. That being said, Pu has a mixed track record with Apple rumors. For example, he accurately claimed that 16-inch MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models with mini-LED displays would launch in 2021, but he was incorrect about HomePods with 3D sensing cameras launching in 2019. This may bring the 8GB RAM rumor into question now that Kuo, a more established analyst in the Apple space with a better track record, is claiming otherwise.

This rumour makes absolutely no sense.

Maybe "Kuo" copied Apples Marketing strategy, by splitting up his predictions into "pro/max/ultra"-reports. 😇😂

Watch the latest presentation introducing M1 Ultra. The processor talk is separate from the device.

"Where are we going to put this ultra-fast A16? Introducing the iPhone 14 Pro."

"For the iPhone 14, we've managed to put in the 5-core GPU A15, an upgrade from last year's 4-core."

Nice, so the 14 line-up will be even more boring than last year's one. I'd scrap the iPhone 13 Pro Max were it not for the extended battery life.
Aside from Macro-mode, it’s over-hyped and not enough to the consumer.

However, when we reach the Periscope lens debut, that’s the iPhone that will change the course of the dynamic for a massive marketing point.

100%

I have a 12 Pro Max and am not picking up another iPhone until they make the tele more useful. I will be super stoked if they can get the periscope lens right. Insta-buy for me.

I don't know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I love how MR users assumed these publications assumed and did not confirm whether or not it’s really MCK’s Twitter account, then in the same breath do exactly the same, but now a double assumption.

This makes sense to me to differentiate the models. And it makes me wonder if the A15/M1 will be the base needed to work with the future VR/AR hardware.

Too bad they continue to dumb down the base models THIS bad. Good old days of the iPhone 11, when "only" the screen and the lack of the tele lens was the (major) difference. After that, they did make sure the 12 and the 13 was substantially worse than the Pro models in for example the camera department. :(
The 12 was probably the one with the smallest difference between the standard and the pro

This might not be new direction but rather issues with 4nm tech or it’s current capacity. There were rumors about 4nm m2 being ready for release and it’s obviously not for some reason.
