Dont think Apple has made decision yet. to many variables (recession. inflation, etc) will change plans

I wonder which iOS release is gonna drop support for the iPhone X?
It would also include iPhone 8 & 8 Plus.

Software Update that covers both features and patches may last up to 71 months.

Security Update that covers patches only may last up to 112 months.

I have never cared about random features other brand phones offer because they generally don’t make a better experience overall. ie, they lack in other categories.

However, I am quite jealous of the zoom capabilities in competitors these days. I have work related tasks where super high zoom quality would be very very beneficial. Apple lagging at a max 6x would be disappointing. Hopefully they do some optical magic. I don’t need canvas ready photo quality. Just images with discernible subject matter

2 more years just to get a periscope lens???
Has Apple forgotten that 52% of its business is iPhone Sales??
Bottom Line; too few improvements to the iPhone and they’re too far apart!! We know that they’re are improvements that could be made from all the patents that have been filed

Classic Tim Apple.

Now we have 3 lines launching with the 15, 15 pro and 15 ultra to keep that upselling going.

Disgusting stuff.

I still don't understand how the richest company in the world has to rely on other small companies to mature tech while we pay top dollar what is essentially generationally old technology in the meantime

I got 12 Pro Max for the camera, then 14 Pro because the cameras were the same, now I need the 16 Pro Max for the camera again? I finally accepted that the 14 Pro was big enough already.

Fixed lenses tend to take better pictures so this is a risky move. Imagine if the cheaper phones have better image quality. Maybe they'll have to play with image processing to make sure that doesn't happen. :)
Well all the phone brands that have had it for multiple years (re: all the other major brands) seem to be doing just fine in image quality.

Spend $200 on a decent compact camera.

Yea, I did that once upon a time a decade ago. No. That’s a ridiculous suggestion. #1, that’s not what we’re talking about here. We are discussing the other camera capabilities in competing phones #2 the zoom would be nice while not at work. #3. I’m not carrying a second device around of the same or larger size with its own battery constraints in general when I can suffer through the grainy garbage photos I take now. All I want is better quality.

Obviously I can do my job without, but it would be nice. Hence, my comment about other competing phones.

I don’t want to carry another device around just because Apple is falling behind on zoom capability. I want apple to do what they do and catch up in an exciting new way or implement a better way to do it.

Thankfully I’m planning on getting the Pro Max in 2024 otherwise I’d be upset. Why wouldn’t this go into the Pro as well? Unless it is a size thing?
It may be an internal space issue, but at the same time the periscope has been sound going on 4 years, so not much of an excuse. If they really do this “ultra” rumor i won’t have a choice but to go elsewhere. Just not worth it to me
