Is this price confirmed? Or is your info still from that ominous YouTube clip from months ago? I think the price is more likely to be $1700 (because ASUS will kill the market at $1199).
ASUS says that the ProArt Display PA32QCV will launch in late August, and it will be priced at $1,299.

Would still be a very moderate price. Well, VAT is added on top (so in Central Europe it would mean a gross price of approx. 1550€).

But at the moment I would prefer the Kuycon G32P from the Italian Kuycon site if it were clear whether the stand is part of the package or not. And why? Because the Kuycon has a glossy coating and not a quality-reduced matt coating like the ASUS ProArt.

I received my Kuycon 6K today…

First impressions out of the box it looked and felt like elegant construction. Solid metal all around. Heavy. The stand feels strong and substantial and attaches easily to the back. The metal “grate” in the back looks nice and it has metal around the edges. No plastic anywhere except where the cables plug in.

I purchased it hoping the image quality would match my Apple Studio Display (5K), and from my eyes it looks almost impossible to distinguish. The Apple may have slightly darker blacks, but the Kuycon has less reflection. It is definitely a glossy display, but does block reflections more (not entirely) compared to the Studio Display and my MacBook Pro. I would say it was akin to the nanotexture I’ve seen on the recent iPads.

The color-profile matches my Apple displays out of the box. Brightness and volume keys do not work, but a download app makes them work. It goes to sleep with the other displays, but takes maybe three seconds to awake compared to the others.

Other details:
▪ One cable USB-C charging/video/audio works well
▪ There is no camera or speakers. There is a 3.5mm audio plug which works, but sound quality was not good
▪ It comes with a USB stick with a firmware file, but no app or instructions for updating the firmware
▪ It does have a power-button, but the Mac can turn it on or off on its own
▪ There is an on-screen menu with remote for settings thing like color and contrast
▪ The bezel looks identically sized to the Apple Studio Display
▪ HDMI works at 6K60 from my MacBook Pro (M3 Max)
▪ It’s at 60Hz, but if you lower the resolution all the way down to 1920x1080 resolution, it will do 120Hz.
▪ Ordered from ClickClack.io on July 10, received it July 26.
▪ Night Shift works

I will post some pictures in the next post. If anyone has any questions let me know. I definitely recommend it. I would also compare the image quality to my LG Ultrafine 5K. Build quality better.

EDIT: Added Night Shift works

These are shots taken from my iPhone 15 of the Kuycon 6K, next to an Apple Studio Display, and a MacBook Pro M3.

Wow, great! :) Thank you for feedback and early impressions. Can you screenshot the Display Control panel with all available resolutions? Have you tried 3027 x 1728 if possible?

kuycon.us and kuycon.it are actually scams... it's a shame. If you know how to China, simply go to Taobao or JD, talk to Kuycon's official stores with some AI translator help. These sites seem to be built by vendors who went rogue. Kuycon Chinese customer service confirmed ClickClack.io is the only authorized retailer at least in the US and Europe, not sure about the rest of the world tho.

If you are worried about buying a monitor from a "scam" website, there is an option to buy Kuycon monitors from a number of resellers on AliExpress. The prices are more or less similar, but a big advantage is that AliExpress offers buyer protection. I have very rarely had any problems with buying there, but when there were problems I always got my money back without any problems.

I will definitely buy at least one monitor, but I'm still considering which route is the safest and most affordable.

Wow that is odd — it does explain a lot, though. Rogue vendors!

It’s not the first time we’ve seen this phenomenon — Geekon.tech was the same (a third-party reseller masquerading as an official site outside of China), then one day it just disappeared.

I’ve been meaning to try to find out more about Kuycon (the company), but didn’t have time to pursue it after my initial attempts failed. [Update: It is 广东酷优客显示技术有限公司 Guangdong Kuyouke Display Tech Co., Ltd.]

Again, thank you. I've adjusted the listings in the Retina 5K and Retina 6K WikiPosts accordingly:

Would be interested to hear of your experience if you buy from one of the Chinese retailers. I'll eventually get around to adding them, now that the "official" Kuycon sites have turned out to be rogue sites. Probably should have known better...

But Asus 6K Display is plastic fantastic case and only matt coating :(

Fair points ...

This is an expensive product, though, to buy one with essentially no good warranty/repair/defective pixel service that isn't going to be very expensive to deal with (if even possible).

If it were priced on par with the Asus it'd be more attractive, but this is a good $600+ MORE, depending upon shipping/taxes/etc.

But didn't it say somewhere that Clickclack.io usually sells B-grade goods?
Click Clack’s focus is mechanical keyboards, thus the name.

I’ve been looking through the Reddit threads. I haven’t found the original claim but there are references to it and I think it originated with this same unauthorized retailer calling itself “Kuycon Europe.” It appears to have been a response to someone who pointed out that Click Clack was cheaper.

That retailer owns Kuycon.co as well. There is a Reddit mod asking questions now — I will try to help if I can.

Regarding ClickClack.io, I requested information regarding UK shipping and they have been very responsive, replying:
"Yes, we can ship to UK, and the shipping fee is including VAT Taxes".
So the total cost to ship to the UK including VAT works out at around £1,384.

But the much more exciting question is: How do you pay? In advance? On account? By credit card? PayPal?

Apart from that, the Kuycon Italy contact address also responds within seconds. Let me put it this way: if I were planning a scam, I would also reply to enquirers within seconds/minutes, because I only want the best... their money :p

ClickClack offers ApplePay, GooglePay and ShopPay in addition to credit card.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we have a verified purchaser from ClickClack above and both Kuycon US and Italy have been flagged as fake?

Correct. And the primary reason (apart from cost) @poorcody went with Click Clack instead of (what was thought then to be) buying directly from Kuycon (which we now know is not possible) was because the payment options were sketchy: "I was going to order it from Kuycon direct, but their checkout is strange: 15% discount if paying with cryptocurrency, 10% off for "Invoice in USD", or no discount for Credit Card. Not sure what "invoice" option meant."

Thanks for clarifying. Those payment options do seem odd. Am I correct in thinking the ClickClack option of paying through ShopPay would give the purchaser extra protection?

I paid ClickClack.io using Apple Pay (always my preferred choice for security). They use a Shopify storefront (I think). I know ClickClack has been around for years, so I wasn't too worried about them. They were also quick to respond via the website's Chat during Chinese working hours.

Yeah that's true, and I went in knowing that. To be fair to ClickClack, though, they do offer one-year warranty service. Shipping from the US and from China isn't all that different these days.

My feeling from reading around though, is that the Kuycon and Ultrafine monitors are going to be LG screens, and the Asus and Acer et. al. are going to use someone else's (AOI/BOE?). I expect the LG screens to be higher quality, but obviously yet to be proven.
