Why would any company, especially Apple, use the a battery than can only last 3 hours on, in a watch? As in, the sort of watch that is designed to tell time.

Also, your expectations of Android are very wrong. Yes, Android is known for pretty poor battery efficiency when compared to iOS, but Android Wear devices can last for days, permanently on.

This is not a watch. It is a computer on your wrist. If your compare it to Android Wear you are completely missing the point.

If Apple tried to fit an iPhone onto someone's wrist, they've compelete missed the point too.

And, it's not like Android Wear can last longer because it can do a great deal more. Apart from Apple Pay and the UI, I don't see the difference.

I'd like to have an always on screen but the technology doesn't allow for it at this stage. Yes they can allow it but it won't last all day.

Your not thinking this out that's why your saying my comment is dumb. Telling the time is only part of the deal.

Chill out my friend, life is good

Well - but technology DOES allow it. The LG Watch R DOES have always on screen.

What I found dumb is because you made it seem like - "oh there is no need or always on screen. Just imagine it is always on when you dont look at the watch, this is basically the same"
That sounded kind of arrogant, I hope you understand. Otherwise I agree - life IS good ;)

There is definitely a benefit to an always-on screen. I laid my hands on the table at the Apple Store, much like I lay my hands on a table in a conference room. With my regular watch, I could see the time. With the Apple Watch, I could not see the time, much less notifications or anything else.

Have a "watchface only" setting where it shows the watchface, and vibrates when you get a notification. Lift your wrist and swipe. Not too hard.

Yes. For example, here's some options from the LG Watch R manual:

  • Mute app notifications: Tap to stop specific app notifications from appearing on your G Watch R.
  • Screen always on: When this is enabled, a dimmed watch face is displayed on your G Watch R's screen when idle.
  • Hide cards on dimmed screen: Tap to choose whether to always show or always hide cards on the G Watch R's dimmed screen.
  • Silence connected phone: Tap to choose whether the call connected alert is only displayed on your watch or appears on both your watch and phone.
  • Show calendar event cards: When this is enabled, you can see calendar event reminders in cards on your G Watch R

The boldfaced option is exactly like you're talking about.

I understand that for most people it's going to be an extension of their iPhone, but there are alot of times when you just want it to be an impressive looking watch.

Yep.

Can we agree that there should be an easy to access option to leave the watch on when you need it to be on for a specific task? Especially the watch face screen, with seconds displayed?

What happens currently when the stop watch is running? Does the screen time out in that situation?
