Large capacity HDDs (12TB-14TB) in Mac Pro

Has anyone tried using some of the latest HDDs in their Mac Pros?

I've read past threads here with some people having issues with 8TB hard drives mounting properly. I haven't had any issue with 6TB Black or 8TB Red Pro drives.

Any insight would be appreciated!

Internal or external?

Have used 16TB via USB3 in RAID0 without issue.

Looking for use internally at the moment.

I have 64TB externally between several external backups. And another 24TB internally at the moment.

I try to get the largest drives I can so I can consolidate these arrays over time.

Don’t the larger drives have issues lining up with the holes on the drive sleds? I’m sure they work fine, but having them fit is another animal.

I have the Seagate IronWolf 12TB drives in my cMP 5.1. Works fine!

Just need to get different HDD sled with the new mounting holes. For example: https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MPRODBKTLG6/

Thanks guys! Yes, I currently have the OWC sleds that accommodate these drives for mounting. Just glad to know people are having success with 12TB drives.
