That is a good part of it. The infra structure is there.

exactly.

any new 'osx mobile' devices don't need to run the current iph/ipt apps, they just need to be able to use the app store infrastructure, and that'd already give them a headstart.

They will have an even bigger advantage if they extend some sort of compatibility for programs that need it. I'm just wondering what is taking Apple so long to grab this market.

I really hope that this is something that finally really knows what you are looking at, knows when you want to dictate and knows how to take dictation, or lets you simply draw or write. It will have a virtual keyboard in case one insists, but it will take cues and commands from eye and other facial information, as well as from hand movements (not to mention voice and direct touching).

Now that they're releasing the "Large Screen iPod Touch Device", I predict that they will also release iEye, iSee, iWatch, and iScout, all of which basically are apps/hardware that follow your eyes to see what you are looking at, and then anticipate your needs with regard to the subject you are viewing at the moment. They come with eyebuds that are in many ways analagous to earbuds - they mount or perch or somehow rest near your eyeballs (Ray-Ban, Maui Jim, give me a call!) to follow your every whim or merely communicate with your new ten inch iPod/netbook thing. It all gives new meaning to triangulation and cross-fire! Just imagine - look and blink once at the email icon, and it knows to begin an email for you, blink twice and it checks for new messages.
