For me MagSafe on my 13 mini is what makes it. It’s easy to charge in the car with a mount and I have the MagSafe battery pack.

One way the pack is great is it can be in the other room charging while I’m still using the phone then put the two together when it’s needed.
If the batter was longer-lasting, you wouldn’t need to re-up on juice throughout the day. I use a Rhinoshield bumper case in tandem with a PhoneFin, and the phone fin blocks MagSafe charging, so MagSafe is totally useless to me. Same for my wife who uses a Loopy case.

Pencil. Give me Apple Pencil support and I'll buy it. Without that, I am perfectly happy with what I have.

Again, I'd pay 2k for the iPhone 15 Pro Max with Apple Pencil support, if that's all it had over the 14 Pro Max.

Pencil. I fkn swear Apple hates artists sometimes.

The existing 5.4” mini is as Pro as you can push it technically, as there simply is not enough physical space for anything else, so definitely no 3rd camera in this body. However, Apple could revive iPhone 11 Pro chassis (5.8”), then everything becomes possible.
Who cares?!
Look at the room(so many 7ft basketball players in this thread, right?) and show me who actually needs yet another big ass phablet?!
Instead there's a ton of people who'd enjoy a sub 6inch form-factor, everyone needs that camera, people definitely prioritize usability and compactness over 6x zoom.

Mini 13, its size and its sub 8mm thickness were the reasons for me to switch from 15 years of using Android to Apple ecosystem and I'd love to stay here, but the 10mm 6.9 inch phone is definitely NOT what I want to carry in my pocket.

As a 12 mini user, I am fine, so was replying to the post of somebody wanting a mini Pro. 🖐️

This is the part that baffles me about the love for these huge phones. Who doesn't find the size inconvenient for a mobile device?

I had a 6.0" phablet years ago that didn't fit in some of my jeans pockets. These phones are bigger, bulkier, and heavier than that phone was. How do people carry these things when they don't fit in any pockets, and you need two hands at all times to operate them?

The mini was just about the perfect size and weight. Light enough to use while walking and not worrying that it was too front-heavy and would tip out of your hand. Small enough that you could basically reach the top corners without much struggle, even if your other hand was holding something or dirty. I just don't understand the appeal of having what is literally starting to look like an iPad mini that is somehow supposed to replace the actual, mobile, hand-held devices we used to call phones. It just makes the same device less useful and convenient when you're constantly having to lug it around and put things down in order to use it.

The average human hand hasn't grown by 0.2"/year since 2018. Why are phones?
If we are going to talk about weight, then we need to talk about the bulky and heavy ring of magnets added to the phones to make wireless charging work.

I'd just love more width, and less height in the phones. I like the idea of a Max phone, but comparing them side by side, it's clear to me that the extra screen size is mostly useless, as it simply increases the visible scrolling length; and also results in a phone too long to fit in a normal pocket and still be able to sit down comfortably.

I agree with you. Personally I loved the size of the iPhone X/XS. I have a iPhone 13 Pro and I wish it had the same size as the iPhone X.

I don't top it up and typically have 40%+ battery at the end of the day. Been at work for 8 hours with 2 hours screen on time and battery is at 79%. It's just heavy usage days or if I didn't charge overnight that it even becomes a consideration.

If Apple did remove MagSafe from the mini there would be many people clamoring for it so they'd make two different SKU's for it and we have far too many different iPhone models as it is.

I won't be getting anything larger, and certainly not heavier, than my current 14Pro. Actually a bit tempted to go back to having my phone as a phone, and my camera as a camera. #pocketbricknomore

Apparently, they know that just about anyone complaining will buy anyway.

Why would they think that? Because "we" seem to do this over and over again.

A wall of pre-release disgust, "nobody will want", "solution in search of problem", "this is the stupidest...", etc seems to flip into "shut up and take my money" at the launch and gushing excitement at unboxing the new thing they apparently hated before Apple actually rolled it out. It works EVERY time. Why should Apple think it would be different this time?
Sadly I think you’re right!
