My point was... A10 isn't bad. It's plenty powerful for what it is.
Remember... this is still the entry-level iPad. The people's iPad. It's not supposed to be "too exciting"...
It's got a bigger screen... and now keyboard support. For the same price.
I'm not seeing the problem. Old Apple would have kept the same model for another year. Or longer!
But here we are. Upgraded. This is good news. And I bet they'll sell a ton of them for the Holidays.
remember it's been 18 months since it got an A10 cpu in the first place. So it's a pretty bad update to only get a .5" screen increase in 18 months. Few care about keyboard support in this thing. Slightly larger screen nothing to write home about.
I'm sure it will still sell during the holidays. I'm sure it will hit $250 during the holidays on sale and will be the best tablet out there at that price and be a substantial upgrade over the crappy Fire Tablets at $100.
But it's not a great update. The update wasn't good news. It was a "see your shadow and crawl back into your cave for another 12 months" news. The cpu is now 3 gens behind the newest cpu in the lineup.
I think the update was mainly done for marketing. Now their whole iPad lineup has the keyboard and pencil support. IT's all on the same page. They also have to make one less size too. Makes the lineup a bit less confusing.
But this isn't one of those updates where a person should buy in. I think getting an Air on sale this holiday is going to be the better bang for the buck. I assume the Air will hit $400 on sale perhaps a bit less. I think that would be the better value because of the much newer cpu/gpu and the 32gb extra storage.
