Does it still require the app to run in the menubar for the Safari extension to work? If so, no thanks.

Definitely check out Stongbox for iOS/MacOS. It’s an open source keepass manager app and the dev is just completely open to adding new features and expanding the app for the better.
You choose where to keep your database, local or in some cloud somewhere where it syncs between any app that accesses it across devices.
There is a feature rich free version, a pay once option or a subscription option.

Got money on the table that 1Password will soon follow. That way they can really get ride of licenses.
While I don't think they would, as they invested heavily on macOS client, they are clearly moving toward subscriptions.

Agilebits is encouraging users to migrate to newer 1Password X browser extension, which requires subscription plan and does not require 1Password for Mac installed.

Webapps and electron apps are the new standard these days for consumer products it seems. Even on windows stuff like Spotify, WhatsApp, FB Messenger, Xbox Live, Authy and many more are just webapps with offline capabilities.

Oh, great. I just started at a new company that uses this and am still waiting for them to provision my account. I really like 1Password and have used it for ages now.

more proof that in the future what OS you use will not matter because most apps in the future will be web or cloud based. no need to spend $6000 for a Mac Pro that apple wants you to believe is the most powerful computer in the world. In the future, you are only a THIN CLIENT. And all the horsepower you will access in the CLOUD by HIGH POWERED SERVERS. This is why 5G is so important to the BIG MEGA MONEY software companies of today. They want your monthly fees for access to your favorite software over a high speed 5G connection. Even gaming is already in the cloud and you can play any game on MAC, LINUX or WINDOWS its all WEB BROWSER BASED

So Be the next fool and spend $6000 for the soon to be useless powerful Mac Pro. APPLE will thank you for it.

CAN WE CURE CANCER NOW PLEASE?? AND START HEALING PEOPLE INSTEAD OF CHASING THE NEXT POWERFUL COMPUTER OR IPHONE OR IPAD???

GOOD HEALTH EQUALS HAPPINESS AND A PRODUCTIVE LEARNING HAPPY LIFE

What if I use windows and Mac though?
And want to store random secure notes, serial keys, non standard passwords for physical things?? It’s not feature rich enough to replace a true password manager. I’m sticking with 1Password..
1) I'm sorry
2) Keychain Access might be more feature rich than you imagine.

"provide the best experience to our customers."

Drops support for a native app in favor of a web based.

Sure, bro.

2 months later. We designed an incredibly beautiful macOS app that’s rich in features and utilized all the new APIs and tech. We think you’ll love it.

yeah, sorry bro

blinded by the light I see.
most of our apps/services are cloud based. It’s becoming increasingly easier to use any device now.

Office 365, Windows 10 (VDI), Zendesk, Jira, Dynamics, Sage, Salesforce, Meraki, Ubiquiti, Dropbox, and the list goes on.

LastPass has gone to **** the last few versions, but this is disappointing. :( 1Pass is the best manager anyway.

This is what happens when people decide to go "subscription model". Every app I've used that does that, the app seem to go to dogcrap.

I'm done with the "more updates faster" routine. It just doesn't work.

They crazy?
Why doesnt Apple just make iCloud Keychain more robust in terms of data input?
Money. Password managers are a popular selling app. Apple would be walking away from its 15–30% take. Assuming Apple improved Keychain and made it a subscription service, would you pay?

This thread is full of the usual "the one I use is the best". IMOP if your using a password manager your better off the then majority of the population. They all have their +'s and -'s. I have used both and like both. currently using lastpass for the family account and sharing.

I think that would be super compelling if Apple turned Keychain into a full fledged app. Web interface for non Apple devices, and full support for 2FA (yubikey etc) and all the other bells and whistles that make a third party password manager necessary. If it was comparable to 1Password, I’d absolutely switch over. Would probably have some synergies that are simply not possible with 1Pass due to API restrictions.
