Why do you care? You made it clear that you are in love with Windows 10!
Tone down the exclamation marks - I can't take you seriously.
I have 3 hackintoshes in the house, 2 used as htpc's, one as my primary machine, and they are all working perfectly fine, with no hassles. I have multiple iOS devices that work fine, but only one Apple computer (15" 2011 MBP), which has had the GPU die for a second time. Of course Apple never acknowledged the 2011 manufacturing/design flaw, as it would probably cost them too much.
Now they are releasing products that I have no interest in. Hackintosh is looking far more viable than ever before. But you are right, perhaps it is time to move away from the Apple ecosystem entirely for many of us.
Pretty thin skinned of you to get bent out of shape over a single exclamation mark considering your use of ALL CAPS in portions of your posts.
With only 5% of Apple's revenue coming from Macs, easy to see why the company has taken their foot off the gas in THAT sector.
In 5 years, they will only be selling iPhones and iPads.
Why do many Mac users always have this compulsion to have to say something derisory about other platforms? It's almost as if they think THEY invented, designed and built the Mac. It seems to be a Mac cult thing... as if they're insecure, and it's "the done thing" - so they say it so as to "fit in". Hey, guess what? If Macs didn't exist, you'd be all over Windows like a rash, baby![]()
The **** they doing with them?? I have a windows machine from 2011 still running fine. I have an imac from 2010 that had its HDD fail on me over the weekend. Swapped out the SSD and it's as good as new. Funny thing is I knew the hdd was failing, and was waiting for the awesome October Apple event to replace it with a super mini. Apple just missed out on up to $2,000.00. This old quad core imac i7 from over four years ago feels as snappy as my i7 4770k 16gb ram gtx 770 gaming machine.
It's a falicy that macs last longer, it's the same damn hardware, it's just pc guys tend to upgrade more for gpu performance as more software is available to them.
And I'm not by any means a windows lover, I hate it but I use it every day and have to know it.
It's supposed to be slower. It's a design feature.

Woohoo Apple innovates again.
I will skip this generation and wait for the one with the single core Pentium CPU.
The 2016 model might have a gold colour, if it has, count me in, that should make it really fast. The combination of soldered RAM, rip-off prices for RAM upgrades and discontinuation of Core i7 quad core Mac Minis broke the deal for me.
In my opinion, the new Mac Mini is too expensive for what it offers (i.e. bad value) and the only way to convey this message to Apple is to not buy it. Saved me a lot of money.Let's see if the Mac Mini 2016 will be better.

I DONT need a MacPro
I DO need to upgrade the RAM ( and NOT at Apple prices !)
I DO need to be able to replace the HD WHEN if fails, not IF if fails.
So, now the Mac Mini is out, and so are the iMacs.
Leaving me with a product line of zilch.
Combine that with the Ugliness of Yosemite and you start looking real close at Linux.
Or even an just an iMac if you don't need all the horsepower of a Pro. Honestly, the Mini is an entry-level computer, it's not meant to be a powerhouse, so why do people complain when it is given an update that vastly speeds up entry-level (and even mid-level!) tasks at the cost of slowing down the highest-level tasks? It's preforming better at what it was meant to do.
On a side note, the top level Mac Mini with the i7 upgrade is an amazing headless computer for $1200.
I use both a PC and a Mac, both are good. But saying something like this is completely, I am looking for a better word the ignorant. What you think other people use their computer for or what you use your computer for don't really matter. Some people use the Mini for everything they need, wither it is video editing or whatever high end uses they have. Could they buy something better, you bet. Should they have the choice to build a custom mini, you bet. I personally use the mini because I don't want to pay for a pro and I don't like all in one machines. Does that mean I think Apple shouldn't sell imacs no it doesn't. So please tell me who are you to make some soft of judgement about how people use their machines and what their choices should or should not be.
Those of you saying the sodering of the RAM is not a big deal, yes it is.8 GB is by far the standard for just about everything now. Adding RAM can easily extend the life a computer 1 or 2 years.
All we need now is for the Retina iMac to have issues like the first Retina MBPs and Apple will have a perfect year of trading on its reputation, rather than great products.
Of course Apple should be all Quad core by now. It's as embarrassing as an 8MP iPhone camera for (likely) 6 years!
If Apple doesn't get the engineering/design balance fixed FAST, we'll be in the late 90s all over again. No clue what you did wrong and no idea how to fix it.
It's not Intel's fault, as much as I wish it was. It's institutional penny pinching. With Cook cheaping out on parts and the genius behind Flash taken over Bob Mansfield's solid engineering - a late 90s like crash seems inevitable based on the current course.
Tap me twice on the wrist if you agree.Sigh. Kevin Lynch? Seriously?

They should have a warning on this machine.
"WARNING ONLY TO BE USED FOR EMAIL"
I have a mid 2011 Mini. Would increasing the RAM from 4Gb to 8Gb make a noticeable difference?
If so, Crucial has 8Gb kit for $86, which would be definitely worth iy

I guess Apple realized most people were buying their RAM upgrades much cheaper elsewhere, so their solution to their losing money was to handicap the mini.
