So you get all the poor sound quality, poor battery and other inconvenience of wireless, but you still get all the inconvenience of having to physically have a wire hanging off your head too? Yeah sign me up
The sound quality is what you would expect for the price it’s certainly not ‘poor’. Poor is those 4.99 wired earphones you get on eBay.

And the wire is so much more convenient than individual earbuds, perhaps they don’t look as ‘cool’ but I’m not using them as fashion statement. The wire makes them harder to lose/drop and take off briefly to speak to someone while they magnetize round your neck plus I’m not replacing them in a case individually every time I’m finished using them.

I had the BeatX which was its predecessor. The battery lasted a lot longer (8hr) than AirPods (5hr) and you can hang it like a necklace since there are magnets to attach the buds. It also had the W1 for device switching and easy paring and physical buttons for controls. If it wasn’t for the noise cancellation on the AirPod Pros I would probably still be using my BeatsX. The current Beats Flex actually has 12hr battery life compared to the Airpods Pro’s 6hr.
Exactly. I had BeatsX since 2018, then bought Airpods Pro in 2020 because of ANC. When the Pro's failed last year, I dug up my old BeatsX and been using them exclusively (again) ever since. It's actually kinda handy, having them hanging from your neck, battery life is more than OK and W1 combined with Lightning charging port seals the deal. Granted, they don't sound as good as Airpods Pro, they don't look as cool and certainly miss ANC, but were also only about half the price of Pros.

Is the wire kind of a retro look now? Like you're supposed to take selfies using a filter that makes you extra pretty while making a peace sign and the heart charm completes the look?

I'm getting old. How do you do, fellow kids!

Kind of, but it has benefits. Harder to lose, easy to briefly take one or both out while trying to listen to someone else (if you stick both ear ends together, they're magnetic, and will pause whatever is playing), etc.
