So many complaints... I'm not bothered either way.

Don't like the "new" way it works? fine.. turn off the feature and go back to the miserable existence prior to iOS 16.

fun fact:
the lines of code to display the battery percentage or not or have it linked to the LPM are shorter (and by that I mean less than 10 lines most likely) than the average article giving us the latest news about the battery icon/percentage...

Am I the only person who doesn’t like the battery percentage at all? So glad they got rid of it in low power mode in Beta 6. No one needs to know the percentage of your battery at all times.

Why can’t they just make a toggle so that you have a battery icon OR a number. You don’t really need a number INSIDE of a battery icon. You could even make the number change from green to yellow to red depending on where the battery level is at.

I wish you could pick what parts of low power mode you wanted. I would like everything except the super short screen dim.
Samsung offers this ability including an ultimate battery saver which let me tell
you was a huge lifesaver when you battery was low and you were no where near a charger.

I really would like for Apple to allow the ability to leave low power mode on all the time and not have it turn off after charging past 80%

Low power mode definitely adds a significant amount of battery life to the iPhone and allows me to get through the day on a single charge

Shortcuts?

2 - I dont like to talk to my phone in public.
Completely agree.

I don't like talking to my phone, or any other device, whether in public or private. (Other than a general swearing at any device that doesn't do what I want it to do. But I don't want or expect that to have any effect on the device. Just a release of my frustration.)

I cant tell how much battery I have at a glance with the percentage on and the icon full. I wear readers and even then the number inside of the icon is too hard to read at times, especially later in the day as my eyes get tired. Not a big deal, I just turn the option off and swipe down if I need a number but as suggested earlier, a number or icon (not both) would be nice too.

Because:
1 - Siri doesn’t speak my native language
2 - I dont like to talk to my phone in public.
3 - glance at the screen is way faster than having to talk to Siri, waiting for her to understand my (poorly pronounced) English and replying
Are you Sirious? Your English is good, but you should work on understanding sarcasm, if /s sign wasn’t enough.

Haha… get it now. I could also call my wife, ask her to look at my device with the Find app and then let her text me the battery level of my device which she can see in the Find app

I don't like it unless they make the # bigger. Can barely read it stuffed in the icon. Even if they made the contrast better it might help

As others have chimed in, definitely use a shortcut to put iPhone on LPM.
LPM pauses very critical tasks that needs to run at some point - like photo sync, iCloud backup, app updates, the list goes on. You should not leave your phone in low power mode all the time - at the *very* least give it a chance to run those processes on the charger, after the fast-charging portion to 80% is complete. You can set an automation in shortcuts for it to automatically turn back on once you disconnect the charger or it drops below a certain percentage - but it needs to be out of low power mode at some regular interval.
IMHO, those are NOT "critical tasks." They are merely background tasks.
No task is critical that requires it to be run in background.

I for one would be pissed if I broke my phone only to learn it hasn't backed up to iCloud in weeks because the system never took itself out of LPM
