Because it would be silly to implement a "new technology" that can be used only halfway, because it would be a halfway baked product, because most people (average Joe) would complain he can do it one way and not the other (thinking ihe got faulty unit), because the screen is not capable of 3d, because even 3d televisions are going away ...I could go on...As an option why not... It will take a long time until they have a 4 lens camera
I am not saying it would not be cool, but as you might already know, Apple doesn't like giving you options that much (at least not software where they can't cash in
)

Of course I'm not disputing that, but it doesnt mean every single person is using a wired headphone and is not willing to change from 3.5mm. Also my other point was that a lot of people just use the headphones packaged by apple, so if Apple were to package lighting headphones instead of 3.5mm it wouldnt make a difference to them.

I agree. I predict Apple will spend a lot of time advertising what the new phone can do, but all efforts will be overshadowed by the way the phone looks. A variation of the same old design. They really don't seem to get it.
The fact that China is able to ban iPhones because they look too similar to another brand, is cause enough for concern not because it's true, but because Apple is not coming up with any new ideas.
If Apple were truly on the forefront of innovation, no company or country for that matter would be able to make such a claim.

I predict Apple will update internal hardware to basically catch up to the rest of the market, make a few pathetic design changes, and continue to charge a premium.
I will concede some of Apple's internal designs are brilliant not so much because of innovation or features, but because it has found a way to make upgrades almost impossible without spending the money up front to add things like memory or a hard drive. Or in the case of the iPhone, no way to update the battery, and no SD card slot.

That concept design is hideous...looks nearly the same and its just boring and awkward to look at now....
