Please let this bring something. I'm getting sick of the constantly repetitive threads.

They're never going away. After this release, there'll be posts about the next processor/upgrade. "Should I buy or should I wait!!?" :p

Anyway, Macbook Pro updates tomorrow, woohoo.

can't wait for the "my C2D MBP isn't much faster than my old CD MBP; Why did you make us wait, Apple?!?!" threads to emerge

ill just sit here, blissfully working away on my excessivly powerful baseline MacBook... :D

So I've rather been hoping for an 'event' at which these significantly upgraded MBPs could debut. I doubt the kinds of significant changes I'm hoping for would be released without some sort of fanfare.

sorry to quote myself, but i just realized that the UK Mac Expo is this week, and that would be a good venue for releasing new MBPs

so my prediction is Oct 26 at the UK MacExpo.

cheers

Hoping not only MBP, but also MP.
I've been waiting too long with my money burning my pocket :(

update: sorry, should be MB instead of MP, typing mistake

yes baby. give me my mormom MBP!:D

I stopped wondering whether they'll come at all...;)

Well, if you want to hear from my reliable source, stocks of macbooks and macbook pros are due in on the 27th/28th October.

You heard it here first!

:)

i think they will stick with Tuesday then just show it off at the EXPO, this will be a silent update because no invites have been sent so there is no reason to wait for friday when they can do it Monday.

I hope to have it order Tuesday and delivered by the end of the week?
Any chance?

If it can't support 4gigs of ram, it ain't worth the wait for me.
I've read that even the current MBP supports 4gigs.
Apple just doesn't offer it in their store since the CPU can only address around 3,2gigs (like every other 32bit cpu).

Don't you end up spending so much money on tax when you enter the UK again that it isn't really worth it?

Not if you open it, load some stuff onto it and take it through customs in your carry-on. Get rid of the box and nobody can say that you didn't buy it in the UK and are just coming home.

Of course, we all know exactly what this rumor really means.

It means, simply, that the "Full Laptop Refresh By Holidays?" thread will stop short of 4000.

Am I alone in wishing there was more effort in getting universal binaries of MS Office, photoshop and all the other stuff that slows even the fastest Mac down rather than all the effort spent in playing the Speculation Game?

Yeah, probably I am.

(I love my MBPro)

Some users in Germany report that their dealers told them existing MacBook (Pro) orders will be deleted and re-ordered tomorrow due to new releases of these notebooks.

All systems go for tomorrow update. :)

Okay, calm down, I have the real dirt here.

What's really happening is MacRumors has a 4000 post limit on its threads; it's known about this bug for a while yet hasn't dealt with it. The old C2D MBP thread is almost at 3700 posts now, and Arn is starting to panic... so he's hoping this will resolve the problem.

I kid, I kid... :D

MacGadget.de (German) reports that MacBook Pro upgrades could take place as early as this week. Expected updates include Core 2 Duo upgrades as has long been expected as well as larger drives, FW800, and upgraded DVD drives.

Starting to feel about as likely as flying saucers...

Of course tomorrow, I just purchased the white Macbook 2.0 Tuesday. If they come out tomorrow looks like I am returning mine for the new c2d. I will pay the restocking fee if I have to

Maybe you forgot the word "reliable" between some and users. :D
