This is nothing but the system trying to protect itself. Get rid of Teacher's Unions, have tax credits for successful professionals for part time public teaching, prosecute public Teacher Union leaders for Racketeering, then conditions improve.
Til' then we have a bunch of middle class mortgage paying cowards clinging to a 19th century, Industrial Revolution education system that is obsolete.
I was home schooled my entire life, but I see the value in public schools. I have many smart friends that thrived there, and would not have done so under their own parents. It wasn't for me, and I was lucky with my parents, but it has value. I also when to a small college where elementary education and education were the strong suited majors. I have a few friends that are pouring their heart and soul into teaching the next generation, and getting paid nothing to do it.
Like any large organization, it has some areas that need to be cut out. But I don't want to see every kid forced to be home schooled any more than I want them all force crammed into large buildings with a random assortment of their "peers".
So, yeah. Everyone off your high horses
