I've wondered how much of this new Steve Jobs character destruction meme wasn't a continuation of the Jihad Mac v. PC...
Like I said on another thread, people that are massive buttheads, like people seem to like to portray Jobs, won't get the kind of loyalty that he got from so many people around him.
I mean, sure, there are masochists and other freaks that crave punishment, but if he was really that mean and evil, how did anyone stay with him? You have to believe that even masochists have limits... (although Windows user limits must be awfully high

And if it's the money, than does that explain Microsoft's success? I mean aside from the H-1B abuse...
It's been a while since I've read 'The Book'. I think it tried to display a complicated man. Complication is hard to show in a snapshot, and society takes such glee in tearing apart people that are 'different'.
Plus there's the whole jealousy thing to consider. Like Costco, many in the corporate world built many pyres to incinerate Apple. Many were very envious of the record of Apple. Outstanding people tend to draw a lot of fire...
