Go to JiveTalk for iPhone and click on a buddy while in horizontal and you'll see that same blue send button within Safari.

I think...

L&O: SVU rules!! Lol.

Anyway, whilst it can be done in Safari...it doesn't mean it is...they might have programmed an app. You never know. :D

Mock Up!!!

This is clearly a mock up. Have a look at your iPhone now, the Safari keyboard and the SMS app keyboard are very different. Look at the bottom row on both. The bottom row of the SMS keyboard has the numbers button, space, and return. The bottom row of the Safari keyboard has the numbers button, period, slash, .com, and Go button.

The keyboard in this picture is clearly the Safari keyboard, with no space botton!!! Imaginetryingtoreadtextslikethis!

I agree that the top section of the screen looks like the SMS app, so IMHO, mock up!!! :D

Slightly off topic. I was watching the bionic woman and a guy had an iphone. He was having a telephone conversation on it, but he had it upside down !!!!!:D

Excuse me but the people that say it's safari either have never seen the iPhone in their life, or are just ignorant.

I FORGOT SAFARI HAD A BLUE SEND BUTTON

To confirm i'm correct, there is no refresh button or magnifying class at the top. From the looks of it it is also a full name in the middle.

errr, Safari is a web browser, so you can make it display pretty much anything you want. HTML is good stuff and it isn't rocket science you know.

Its a jailbroken iPhone using the new MobileChat with horizontal keyboard

i thought the same thing
so i had to check on mine

the problem with that idea is the text box is on the left side of the screen in mobilechat when your in landscape

They do that on purpose so they don't show the apple logo

They've shown iPhones on CSI taking video before so I wouldn't get too excited about this image. This is probably just an image that they're viewing in the photos app to look like he's texting.

I have another question though, why would the prop people on this show even go out of their way to fake/display this feature on the iPhone in the first place? Did they perhaps get their hands on an iPhone with the 2.0 update that now offers the ability to text in landscape mode? We can go all day long with this. It really doesn't matter.

i thought it was jivetalk too... i did a bit of an analysis and honestly i'm stumped. either it's a jailbroken phone, a 2.0 phone, or some apple fanboy on the set of the show with photoshop is laughing his ass off at us right now.

I found the whole thing weird because they showed him texting and even the sounds of the keys were on the show. They could of left it at that, without showing the screen, then they cut to the shot of the screen, which did nothing for the story at all since you could not make out the words being typed. I am beginning to think they did it just to make people wonder

here is a screen shot of my chat ....

MobileChat v2.23

soory just realized I forgot to rotate the pic ... but you get the point

I know you guys said you CANT read what is on the screen, but i was able to read it. It says:

"Off the other location(s). reply this message with the number * Click here for more information."

Looks like its the number 1,but i cant tell..

soo.. anyone know what THAT means?

Safari Photo

Does anyone not notice that the screen looks just like safari turned sideways using a webapp. the split spacebar is because of the .com button to the right. Come on ppl. If you have never used an iphone, don't comment of the ui. The screen looks just like safari.

It looks just like the SMS in portrait, and safari's keyboard. Possibly it could be something like Meebo or other Instant Messaging services that have added a skin to their site that fits the iPhone better, just made-up by the show... They did a good job at any rate...
