What's with the washed out colors that debuted with the 5C and is now spreading through the lineup? I remember when the iPod Nano had these bright vibrant hues. Now the colors look like someone put them in the washing machine too many times.

Makes perfect sense that they'd modify the 5s design for a C phone. It'll likely be the 5s internals plus an NFC chip so more people can get onboard the Apple Pay wagon. Whether they call it a 6C or 5Cs, who knows, and who cares really? But I'd put my money on an A7-based 4" phone with mostly 5s internals with the addition of an NFC chip for Apple Pay. Free on contract.

And I also wouldn't be shocked to see them drop the $99 "last year" option and just roll with whatever this phone will be and the premium 6s. That is, if they want to differentiate the phones more. If they're fine with a 6 sitting next to a 6s, then whatever works...

I'd be very surprised if Apple released a 4" iPhone with the 6 moniker attached to it.

If anything, the 5s will stay behind as the 4" option (just like the 4s did for the 3.5" option when the 5s was first released).

The 6 of today will get wrapped in plastic and dubbed 6C. I doubt there will be a 6C plus, but I could be wrong on that.

The 6s will be released alongside a 6s Plus in enclosures resembling today's 6 and 6 Plus but with subtle improvements to the design - and of course new and improved features outside and in.

Flat UI, flat colors. It all blends better. I would much rather see white bezels on the C series phones.

Why wait? Just buy a 5S and slap on a good quality, bright and cheerful TPU case :)

Sorted. No more "rumours" to trawl through.

Interesting about the camera being flush with the housing. Either they've solved a problem to reduce thickness or are backing-off the camera in this model.

I won't be surprised to see the camera on the 6S/6S Plus return to being flush again.

Edit: I just realized that the 6C will use the internals from the 5S, meaning no real change in camera specs. The bump won't be an issue for the C line until next year at the current schedule. My thought still stands on 6S camera bump, though.

God I hope so. I just can't get over the fact that they put this hideous bump on the phone for that extra millimeter of thinness. I go sans case, and it makes my heart hurt every time I lay my phone down on the desktop and it wiggles. So sad. Steve would have smacked Jony on the back of the head for this one.

I wish Apple would just release them with the iPod touch's aluminium shells. They look absolutely fantastic with color.

It looks like it would essentially be an "iPhone 5CS" which suggests that Apple doesn't want to retain the pricier iPhone 5/5S production process for what will be the cheapest option in most countries.

The question is will they also include the secured element so that you could use apple pay on the 'free' phone. This would bring more people into the fold.

The 6c should be using the 6's internals, since the 5c used the 5's.

If the 6c is basically a 6 with a plastic shell, I don't see it selling very well...

But if it's actually better, in some incredible way, I might be tempted to upgrade. I wonder if there will be a 6c+ or 6+c in plastic...

Its most prob going To have 5s internals.

Surely it's time to drop the numeric designations of iphones?
5S, 6, 6+ is bad enough.. but 5SC, 6S, 6+S will just be ridiculous.

The iPad has flirted with dumping the number.
And iMacs/MacBooks are just associated with their year of release.

Surely it's time for iphone, iphone C, and iphone +, if that's the 3-part lineup they want to go with?

OR, is the branding of a new numbered iphone so strong, particularly in the minds of those people who follow the evolution and tech less well than us geeks, that "IPHONE 7" carries more selling weight than "iphone (2015)" ?

5C came out with 5S and used 5 internals.

6C came out with 6S and used 6 internals.

that would make *much* more sense. At least the chip.
